The Philippines’ president, Rodrigo Duterte, has sparked a fresh diplomatic row after making a homophobic slur against the US ambassador in comments that prompted Washington to summon Manila’s envoy to complain.
In the latest of a series of tirades, Duterte used a local Tagalog language homophobic slur to express his displeasure with the US ambassador, Philip Goldberg, in televised comments made on Friday.
“As you know, I’m fighting with (US Secretary of State John Kerry’s) ambassador. His gay ambassador, the son of a whore. He pissed me off,” Duterte said.
Duterte, 71, surged to power with a landslide in May following an incendiary campaign in which he gleefully used foul language to disrespect authority figures, from his local political rivals to the pope.
He first came into conflict with US envoy Goldberg on the campaign trail, after he said he wanted to rape a “beautiful” Australian missionary who was sexually assaulted and murdered in a 1989 prison riot in Davao, the city he ran for two decades.
Rodrigo "Donald who?" Duterte, ladies and gentlemen :v:
Sounds like the Don himself, yep.
Is this the next thing? Elections/nominations around the world being won by "I'm-different"-foul-mouths through sheer populism?

Spouting obscenities and insults isn't the solution to any problem, especially for politicians who are either presidents themselves or aiming to be presidents.
It's unprofessional and proof that they can't control themselves.

Or it could also mean that he doesn't want to exchange pleasantries with secretaries of state, if they happen to be cunts.
I could very well picture him calling Hillary or Donald "son/daughter of a whore"... and some people, even from the US, may cheer him for that.
Still, I do agree that there's a time and a place for that sort of thing, and coming from a president's mouth is pretty jarring.
To be honest, it'll just be some stern words to him. Because at the end of the day, that banana republic that is referred to as the "Philippines", in regards to geopolitics, is a very strategic ally in holding off China. Which is why nothing will being done about Duterte, while anyone who is a Filipino outside of the Philippines probably shudders in embarrassment.

Their people are morons supporting the mass murder of drug users instead of trying to actually solve any corruption. Duterte doesn't care about the common people, and found an easy scapegoat among the population to obstruct any truly progressive desires.
Right now I'm certain that somewhere in space a bunch of aliens are remote controlling Trump, Erdogan and Duterte thinking 'Lets see how much shit we can ruin in one year without setting foot on the ground'.
He's arguably worse than Trump. Even less restraint, and he actually has power in his country. Sounds like shit's gotten real bad over there.
wouldnt be surprising if this fuck head declares a campaign to "Cleanse the gayness"
