So I found out I could use a credit card to purchase a card online, with approval from the parent, and I found this.

How big of a step up will this be from a 9600 GSO, when gaming at 1280x1024?
It's a jump, not a leap though.

Well...
If I can play crysis on high now at 20 FPS average, will that 4850 do better?
(I like to play crysis, which if why I'm asking)
That seems to do good at 1080P resolution so I will assume yes, but still will wait for feedback.

Or what about a 9800 GTX.
A 4870 is too far out of my range.
and a 4850, if the answer to the above question is no, is probably not enough power.

Wait then...
If the 4850 512 megabyte does Fear 2 on maximum settings at 1080P, at around 60 fps, as opposed to the 9600 GT that does it around 35 fps, then a 4850 should prefrom better then, correct?
Try finding a 4850 or 4890 @ 1gb.
4850 does ~70 FPS on FEAR 2 oppose to 9600, ~40FPS
these are at max settings. It's apparent the 4850 is better over your current. You should try getting XFX 4870 @ 1Gb
Thanks.
I have all my info now!
