(CNN) - Members of Congress will not be allowed to travel by military aircraft once the forced spending cuts set to take effect on Friday kick in, House Speaker John Boehner told Republican members at a meeting Wednesday afternoon. The prohibition could ground some official congressional delegation trips – known as CODELs – where several members or a committee travel on fact-finding or relationship-building trips to foreign countries. Transportation for these trips is sometimes provided by military aircraft, while sometimes members travel by commercial air. It was not immediately clear if the restriction would cancel any planned trips. Three months later, TSA gets shut down by Congress for over excessive groping.
Good. Now they'll get to experience first hand all the security they've forced us to put up with.
Does commercial have a "Circlejerk" seating option for them?
"Congressman beat to death on airplane"
Good. Now they'll get to experience first hand all the security they've forced us to put up with.
im sure their process will be expedited and they'll be guided onto first class without any hassle
Sounds good to me.
A Congressman on a US Airways or Delta flight would be hilarious. "So, what do you do?" "I'm a Congressman." *facepunch* "You're killing my business, you asshole!"

It strikes me odd that all the people in power are knowingly given these bonuses at all. Why was flying them around in military vehicles on "fact-finding missions" (that are likely cleverly disguised as luxurious vacations) even necessary? It can all be achieved using common means. Indeed, let them experience what the people do, for are they not the representatives of the people, and as such expected to be in touch with the people? No, don't expedite the process, no first class unless they demand for it (and consequently pay out of their own pockets). Hell, back in the day, being a member of a city council in middle age cities in Europe actually didn't pay at all. You'd be expected to live off your real job. It wasn't a job, it was a civic duty (in essence, but problems did arise, as the rich merchants weren't exactly in touch with the commoners either). At times higher political bodies reek of Orwellian power abuse as in "Animal Farm":
We must have these comforts. I Understand it looks disagreeable to you, but leading people is hard - think of what would happen if we weren't able to have only the best of the best? You DON'T want the terrorists to return, do you?
Oh no, they'll be back to flying first class commercial on the taxpayer's dime, whatever will they do? I'll eat my hat if congressmen don't get their own expedited route through airport security, they won't be getting gate raped with the rest of the unwashed.
This really irks me, They will just first class it and abuse the drinks and stuff cause who cares they arn't paying for it. Sad to say, Most of Facepunch (Including me myself) Would just do regular seats aboard. I'd still be picky about my airline due to the quality of service, But if i need to be home or to an event and theirs only spirit left to take then I guess i'm taking that. Just to side track, A majority of republicans I've talked to in NY told me they are outraged the people they voted into office are acting like the complete opposite before they won. I can't blame the republican people, only the people in those damn chairs.
I really do hope they fly coach and don't get rushed through the TSA. They'd rush a "TSA go away" bill onto the books overnight.
Just to side track, A majority of republicans I've talked to in NY told me they are outraged the people they voted into office are acting like the complete opposite before they won. Anyone who voted with their brain would be able to tell the GOP choices were lying cheats that didn't deserve office.
Private jets maybe?
Private jets maybe?
Only if paid by the taxpayer
I will fart heartily and voraciously next to any congressman on a plane I'm flying on.
"Bombs on plane luggage up by 10000%"
"Bombs on plane luggage up by 10000%"
My plan: "So what do you do?" "I'm a Congressman" "Um, stewardess, this man is a terrorist!"
"Congressman beat to death on airplane"
I'll do it myself.
"Terrorist spotted outside airport, with connections to thousands of dead lives" "Uh, that's just a congressman" "Same thing"
