Anne Frank Diary "Too Pornographic" for Middle Schoolers.
"It's pretty graphic, and it's pretty pornographic for seventh-grade boys and girls to be reading," Horalek told Fox 2. "It's inappropriate for a teacher to be giving this material out to the kids when its really the parents' job to give the students this information."
The unedited version of Anne Frank's diary is a part of the seventh-grade language arts curriculum at Meads Mill Middle School, where Horalek's daughter attends, according to Patch Northville.
I've never read the diary. I'd still prefer an unedited version over an edited version.
Why does America listen to concerned mothers, again?
Until I was eleven or twelve, I didn't realize there was a second set of labia on the inside, since you couldn't see them. What's even funnier is that I thought urine came out of the clitoris…When you're standing up, all you see from the front is hair. Between your legs there are two soft, cushiony things, also covered with hair, which press together when you're standing, so you can't see what's inside. They separate when you sit down and they're very red and quite fleshy on the inside. In the upper part, between the outer labia, there's a fold of skin that, on second thought, looks like a kind of blister. That's the clitoris."

Okay I have a boner now.

Because they vote more than younger, more stable, people.

She really did have a lot of free time, didn't she?
I don't know about you but by the 6th grade we already had sex-ed where they taught us most of this
oh no a girl discovering her body is too graphic
pfff
Not many people realize that the book is called the Diary of Anne Frank not Little girl writes an open book for everyone to see I mean did Anne really think people would make her private diary into a book, probably not.

What's your point?
What's your point?
I think he tried to say that Anne Frank never expected her book to be published and wrote silly/private things in her diary, so we shouldn't be surprised to find graphic/pervy/adult themes in her book?

you should probably read her diary before you say shit about it
she was astutely aware of the fact that her diary would be public, thats one of the reasons why she's so adamant with her documentation
she like says that in the diary
Amazing that anatomical information is kept from people underage.
I always knew she was a dirty!
Must be because of all the Justin Bieber fanfiction she wrote...
On a serious note, what the shit is so bad about children learning about human anatomy? Oh no, a very specific and rather really important part can't be shown! Like, what's the bad outcome everyone is afraid of? Having to answer more questions? I knew about how sex and genitals from age 6 and I'm not a rapist, voyeur or public maturbator. Seriously, we as a culture should be above that sort of thing.
Doctors should paint black bars on newborn babies so they won't see their extremely graphic body 'till they're 21

Uh, perhaps YOU should read the diary before giving people shit about it.
This is from the first page:
"I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support."
In March 1944 she was inspired to start rewriting her diary on sheets of paper, but I do not believe there is any documented, definite intention. It could have been just for proper storage.
In the end the decision was made by her father after her death.

I'm more worried about the child accidentally seeing a vagina on it's way out.
rick santorum announces "women do not have vaginas", fox news applauds santorum for taking a rare stance on protecting the christian rights of men

yeah thats the first page good job
later on she describes how she'll continue writing the diary in the hopes to be a journalist, which is why i said the word astutely, meaning she was smart enough to understand the historical significance of what she was writing.
anne was totally aware that her writing would be public, in both her confidence and her attention to detail. she created the pseudonyms herself, and she wisely supplemented her writings with additional information that youd never write in a diary if you were writing for yourself.
you can believe what you want lol, but she clearly says what her intentions are in the book
i've read the diary thx, i have a copy in my book case/pornography storage
just blast neutral milk hotel for the entire schoolday at them full volume
if by the end they dont know everything about anne frank they failed

She later decides to go back and edit it so it can be released, after she died her father released the edited version, and then later released the full unedited version.

what are you stupid
she wants to be a public journalist sure but do all journalists publish their private diaries fuck no
how the hell did she know how significant her diary was historically after she died and why would a journalist put in stuff about her vagina for the public to read
oh thats right because it had no intention on being public
oh and btw just because you wouldn't write it in a diary doesnt mean anne frank wouldn't too
saying that you'd supply 'additional information that you'd never write in a diary' is just opinion
