Pastor Al Moore told WKRG that he received a robocall from the Washington Post’s “Bernie Bernstein” looking for damaging information on Moore in exchange for money.

The Washington Post responded to these robocalls in a statement that the message was fraudulent and “bears no relationship to reality.” “The Post has just learned that at least one person in Alabama has received a call from someone falsely claiming to be from the Washington Post,” Marty Baron, the paper's executive editor, said. “The call’s description of our reporting methods bears no relationship to reality.”
Recording of the message here if that embed fails: https://www.facebook.com/WKRG.News.5/videos/10155917973537500/
I like how they sprinkled just a little bit of antisemitism into their fraudulence with "bernie bernstein", what they must think of the people of Alabama, right?
So, someone is blatantly trying to discredit the allegations by posing as a Washington Post writer willing to pay people for damaging info on Moore? I hope they find who's behind this call, because they're intentionally obfuscating this entire situation.
What do you want to bet it's another example of Russian information warfare?
More willing to wager that the GOP has a racism problem. And a fact problem.
Oh god...the comments on that facebook news post are the worst..don't bother reading them unless you have good restraint
More willing to wager that the GOP has a racism problem. And a fact problem.
Not really sure where racism falls into this particular instance, you're gonna have to explain that one to me. Fact problem for sure though. The depressing part is, it could be 50/50 for GOP or foreign actor either way. Impossible to tell. I hate this shit.
I think the Bernie Bernstein is hilariously anti-semitic
Ah, that. Yeah. Could still be either one. Russia doesn't exactly have a history of being a refuge for those Jewish communities that found themselves there, and in spite of the GOP's staunch pro-Israel stance, I do agree that they have a history of sometimes subtle and sometimes not-so-subtle racism. There's also a third possibility; lone actor looking to stir shit up. I can picture some basement-dwelling alt-righter with a phone and a list of numbers pulling this crap.
