Compatibility issues/Choice of hardware on new build.

I've never built a PC before, I decided to have a friend that knows how to build computers build me one. I am a firm believer in "trust but verify" so I just want to make sure I'm getting the best for my money and that when it all comes in it should be compatible. I'll be having another friend help me out with the actual building.

16GB of RAM and a Bulldozer? Oh man, that's bad. Get an i5-3570K(launches in a week) and a good Z77 mobo. Also you really shouldn't be doing SLI/CFX right off the bat, it's better to keep it as an upgrade path. You might want to look at the Cooler Master storm trooper. It's got a lot more features than the HAF 932 for the same price, but it's a love/hate design scenario. You also might want to invest in more HDD space, you clearly can afford it.
