[QUOTE]Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Peter O'Neill has disbanded the country's main anti-corruption body after an arrest warrant was served on him earlier this week over corruption allegations.
The arrest warrant was served on Mr O'Neill on Monday.
Mr O'Neill says Taskforce Sweep has been politically compromised, and its integrity has been politically influenced
The chairman of the taskforce, Sam Koim, issued a statement ahead of the break-up, calling it "the gravest mistake a responsible government would make".
"The interest of the country must dictate our decisions and supersedes any individual's interest," he said.

Good news El Presidente, we foiled the rebels plan to arrest you for corruption by closing down the anti-corruption department.
I still think Papua New Guinea would have been better off being an Australian territory.
When he gets a ticket for speeding, he'll legalize speeding.

yet the problem is, a fair amount Australians would probably end up treating the papua new guineans like the aboriginals.

they may get the doe but still have to face the indonesians in west papua
Also you're acting like the people there are a singular group when it's far more complicated and it's basically still tribalism in mass and huge loads of diversity in language and culture.
It could certainly use foreign intervention of some kind to at least halt the fucking cannibalism epidemic to starts.

It would be an unnecessary strain on Australia in regards to social security and also with being so close to Indonesia. The amount of aid required to help PNG is immense.
PNG needs help, just not that sort, and they probably wouldn't want it themselves. The aboriginal argument against this is pretty fair, they would be pinned with the same sense of forced assimilation, and feel like they've lost their cultural identity after becoming part of Australia.
