So, i'm getting a new computer and i was wondering if this build would be able to run GTA 4 And/Or ArmA 2. Specs : CPU : AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 940 Black Edition GPU : ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB RAM : 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 So tell me facepunch, is my build decent? Or is it REALLY FUCKING SHIT?!
Looks great to me.... then again... I don't know ATI cards..
yes very well
To play with textures at high on gta4 (which you need a 640mb or high card) isnt there a code you put into the game that allows you to do that? so then you could shove all settings high for that build
Maybe average, but it's decent.
Maybe average, but it's decent.
How is that average? its the new top AMD Phenom II quad core one of the best ati graphics cards with 4gb, how is that average??

GTA4 is pretty badly optimised, I have the same GPU and I ran it pretty badly. It might have been patched, though.

I have a Phenom II 940, HD4870, but only 2Gb of RAM. My 4GB should be here on Thursday. And Arma II runs playable, and GTA4 average too. It may be to do with the RAM though.
I play gta4 on medium textures, high and very high everything else at 30-35fps at 1680 x 1050 on a amd 6000+ 3ghz with a 9600gt so that rig will do it well.
GTA4 is pretty badly optimised, I have the same GPU and I ran it pretty badly. It might have been patched, though.
Might have been your cpu too. Beceause GTA 4 needs a ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL QUAD CORE IN TEH WORLD
what are you all talking about that build will do fine I would suggest a 4870 but a 4850 is good and the CPu is fine
Ok thank you facepunch, now i only need 1,824.00$ :bang:
Ok thank you facepunch, now i only need 1,824.00$ :bang:
Come back when you have the cash, things'll be cheaper then.
ArmA Two is playable on my 3850. Max everything, view distance, around 4MM from the right.
I think I have that Radeon card, (I suck at PC parts) I just need moar ram
Ok thank you facepunch, now i only need 1,824.00$ :bang:
what the hell where are you buying from, a 940 X4, 4850 and 4gb of ram should only be like 800 max
what the hell where are you buying from, a 940 X4, 4850 and 4gb of ram should only be like 800 max
Or it's a prebuilt..
Prebuilt, i hate building PC's beceause im scared of incompatibilities. :frown:
You think we can't tell if a AMD processor won't work in a Intel mobo?
I run AMD Phenom II 940, 4GB DDR2 1066 and a NVIDIA GTX 260 and I run GTA IV maxed (as far as restrictions will let me go) The game looks exactly like the PS3 version I was playing before I upgraded my gaming rig. Well, except for the crappy buggy shadows. The windows and xbox 360 versions suffer from badly drawn shadows in some areas.
