I can see many rube goldberg machine maps out of this.
Incoming flood of horribly easy and awful looking test chambers.
May 8th?
Normally I'd say that feels like a long time, but Sniper Elite V2 is out next week so I can play that to occupy time.
May 8th is in less than two weeks, how that should be a long time ?
Fans will be able to browse the Steam Workshop to not only find user-generated levels, but also vote on them.
Please Valve, don't let this become another Happy Wheels.

True but if the system works as it should the horrible maps would get down voted to hell.
I am pretty excited about this. I love to play around with map editors and while I do love the source engine I think this will be able to replace hammer for simpler map designs. Obviously people wanting to do more complicated things (Which is always encouraged) can do so on hammer. I am just hoping it's going to be feature heavy.
i cant wait for the dont move levels
Oh man I can't wait to have no ideas for maps!
Portal 2 DLC the day after my birthday? Fuck yes.
I love Valve so much.
And what do the console players get? nothing once again.
I was thinking the other day what was going on with Portal 2, now this! Boss.

No better time to play a puzzle game then when you're hungover! :v:
it'd be very cool if there was an option to have the editor look like the stuff you see in the picture, it'd be unpractical, but still.

IIRC, it might actually look like that normally.

Oh god I can see it already.

"If you get stuck here ur a JB! Rate 5!"
The inclusion of the steam workshop integration into many games is incredible. I'm glad it is being introduced into Portal 2 as well for this.

I'm pretty sure when they announced it they said it would be in that style.
Good, I love making maps but I suck at Hammer :v:
I'm just waiting for the army of 12 year olds thinking they're level designers because they can use this tool. Hammer and the rest of Source SDK will still be better.

"KILL JUSTIN BEEBER JUSTIN BEEBER IS TERRET KILL HIM"
"RATE 5 STARS IF U KILLED JUSTIN BEEBER"

"So, what makes you think you can work for us?"
"I am a level designer"
"Oh really, what games do you have backgrounds in?"
"I made a Portal 2 level in game"
"-_-"
And what do the console players get? nothing once again.
PS3 players get a free copy for PC, which would allow you to get this DLC

Yeah, this editor is just for modular puzzles, drag/click/drop kind of editor by the looks of it.
So no coop/single player content?
So no coop/single player content?
Who knows, there's been no announcement of what else there is in this DLC.
Gmod13 and Skyrim have high value content in the workshop. It works really well with those. So it will with Portal2.

But making a level with this seems pretty easy, making mods and models and such is much more harder.
