Hundreds of people are calling for adverts featuring England football players to be pulled after being knocked out at the group stage of the World Cup.
Supporters are furious that players including Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Joe Hart are still being shown on their screens despite their embarrassing performance.

Holy shit this is sad
I feel like the trumpet of failure is in order.
wow, it's like they only play for their country and have no clubs nor leagues to play in.
these people need to lighten up.

A lot of those people could just be taking the piss even if they don't care for the sport.
Embrace the humiliation and burn it for fuel for 2018
I think all future adverts should just start with a shot of Geoff Hurst lifting the cup in '66 and then cut to a compilation of Steven Gerrard falling over.
Its the risky business of world cup adverts, if you get kicked out quickly that's millions wasted in making those ads to begin with.
i wont buy subways cause they advertised to me and in this advertisement they had a player called daniel sturridge and this player played for england in world cup 2014 and england failed so subways must be bad so i wont buy any subways any more
Subway should jump on to this and tailor their new ads for England. "Come into Subway for one of our signature five pound foot long subs. We know our customers deserve at least one victory this season."
This is all going to plan. As the people of the United Kingdom are forced to witness their defeat in Soccer, thousands of times over, they'll grow angered and resentful to soccer, and demand American Football!
Oh Prophet John Madden, you shall soon have your United Kingdom branch of the NFL, and we shall have a Super Bowl in Wembley Stadium! It shall be glorious!
Please Subway, continue these ads! Continue them in the name of having the NFL over FIFA!

Seriously though, it is probably just the fact that they purchased the commercial space, and had no clue that England was going to have it's teeth kicked in during the World Cup. It's sorta like the fact that somewhere in some impoverished part of the world, some people believe that the Buffalo Bills won four Superbowls because of the t-shirts they were given.
Jesus, could you be more asinine than wanting an ad removed just because the team show has lost?
It doesn't even make sense, by that logic any ad of any team except the final winners should be removed by the end of the Cup.

but muh sporting pride
I hate how this shit's news. It's just searches on twitter, they didn't even bother to list individual tweets so their search keywords aren't bolded.
English news: today, some people in england had opinions!

You should see BBC News, every 10 minutes when were still in the cup it was over to the fucking sports center to gawp at the players training.
That's something Cruzcampo (beer brand) did right: they had two avertisements made, one in case we were doing well, and other in case we failed.
Talk about being bitter.
