Hey, I just finished a remix of a few of Skrillex's songs, I took bits and pieces of every song and remixed them all together. Tell me what you think. Here's my actual soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/djdroid-1 If you didn't like this track, maybe you'll enjoy my others. REMASTERED VERSION:
whats with 1:32
whats with 1:32
Terribly blended samples. [editline]18th September 2011[/editline] It was supposed to crossfade a little better. I'll end up doing a remastered version of this track anyways. Just looking for some constructive criticism right now.
Oh my god no offense but that doesn't even make any sense I've tried making a mashup once but I never really completed it. I know it's clunky at some point but I think you should try making stuff this way. [editline]19th September 2011[/editline] Ugh it shows up as not available to me. Use this link if it doesn't work: http://soundcloud.com/mosdub/skrillex-promises-borgore
Wow. The timing is all messed up on that first loop. The little retrigger you do every 8th bar is so off. And the mixing on everything else is extremely poor. Work on your timing. The.Joker, not Oxu365
I really don't understand these sorts of things. To me it's just taking a bunch of pre-existing songs and adding crappy effects to everything to make some abomination.
All you've done is put some skrillex songs together with some added effects of your own. Personally I don't rate this anything at all. You might aswell just play the songs after each other. I suppose I'm not really one to judge since I despise this sort of music, but thats just me. I listened to your other tracks on soundcloud, assuming you made them. Not really impressed, sorry.
Work on learning music theory, synthesis and composition in general if you plan to take any sort of production seriously in the long-term.
No thanks, I'd rather just play other people's music and be a "DJ" Edit: This is not aimed at DJ's in general, just this guy. You can stop rating me dumb (unless you're one of these so called DJs who plays songs one after the other with little to no mixing and expects people to be impressed)
Work on learning music theory, synthesis and composition in general if you plan to take any sort of production seriously in the long-term.
I've never even heard of the term re-trigger. As far as learning musical theory, synthesis, and composition, that's what I'm doing as a hobby in my highschool years. Right now all I've got is a basic understanding and general knowledge I gained from a few shitty bands I worked with over the years. DJing is what I enjoy most, however production is definetly something I'll have to work on. I've been working on some random stuff over the past few weeks and I just gotta work on a full track.
Horrible, sounds like some horrible DJ'ing or something.

This is not remixing, well technically it is, but it really isn't. And producing a full track isn't reasy, experiment at first. And don't use bassline or melody loops or shit like that or you wont learn anything
loops are great for getting your creativity going though. I tend to use loops and build a track around them, then I end up deleting or editing them until they are something completely different.

I know a lot of people who do that and then boast about how they are master musicians :l
make a [editline]20th September 2011[/editline] chipmunk remix
the only loops i tend to use are amen loops and percussion loops. everything else is lightly sampled or handmade doing it that way does teach you how to make shit you actually want to make
I really liked it but it still needs alot of work especially the first 2 mins
make a [editline]20th September 2011[/editline] chipmunk remix
yo, how's your tunage progressing? you were making some amazing shit a few years back, what's new?

As far as my musical production goes, all I'm using is fruity loops. If anyone knows of any good tutorials, or plugins/packs I should get I'd love to hear from you.
http://soundcloud.com/capsadmin
superb, my rocket absolutely fucking owns, nice work :) [editline]21st September 2011[/editline] as does 'ha', how are you compressing the drums to make them that punchy?
As far as my musical production goes, all I'm using is fruity loops. There's tons of good, coherent tutorials on youtube aswell.
Get ableton live instead, it's an awesome and easy to use DAW. There's tons of good, coherent tutorials on youtube aswell.
Dude no. It really depends on the person. I've tried both and I prefer Ableton, but lots of people like FL Studio more. Fuck around In FLS first and see where you're at
It's a matter of taste I guess, I think ableton is much easier and cleaner to use once you get a hold of it. I got a hold of it pretty fast and I had been using FL for two years.
Well, Patjo Sweden why do you suggest Ableton? and Croix why do you suggest fruity loops?
No thanks, I'd rather just play other people's music and be a "DJ" Edit: This is not aimed at DJ's in general, just this guy. DJing is difficult. Just because you don't produce music, doesn't mean you're not talented. That being said, those who do produce music are extremely talented, and I will of course end up producing, but right now all I do is mix. And I enjoy it.
you tripped the time really irritatingly at the beggining :| and just when I thought it was done.... it came back. FIX IT NAOW other than that, kind of enjoyed the mix :D

The truth is also that real musicians use Ableton.
Well, Patjo Sweden why do you suggest Ableton? and Croix why do you suggest fruity loops?
Because they have equal potential as DAW's, it's just a matter of taste. And since you already have FL, I recommend playing around with it for a while, and then testing Ableton. Then use whichever you like better. Deadmau5 uses FL Studio, so does Madeon and Porter Robinson. It's a pretty good DAW for electro,
