A series of explosions in the skies of Russia’s Urals region, reportedly caused by a meteor shower, has sparked panic in three major cities. Witnesses said that houses shuddered, windows were blown out and cellphones stopped working.
SOURCE: http://rt.com/news/meteorite-crash-urals-chelyabinsk-283/ VIDEOS: IMAGES:
Tunguska II begins.
I actually didn't mean that I wanted to see large swathes of forest and cityscape get destroyed by meteors. I meant I just want to be able to see meteor showers go over the area I'm in. That's all, sorry for the miscommunication folks.
that's really shitty and incredibly awesome at the same time
Holy shit! Why can't this stuff happen over New York? I wanna see a meteor shower too...
Tunguska's meteorite leveled miles of countryside. New York might have a few issues.

That is literally the same shape, color, everything that I saw. While I watched it go towards the horizon I was freaking out half expecting there to be a giant explosion and that I'd be watching the whole area get nuked but nothing happened. It was a 2-3 years ago, I can't remember exactly when. It was on the news later that night as a green fireball or something like that.
I wonder if anybody died

That must be terrifying to see. However, it would be awesome, as you would probably only witness something like that once in your lifetime.
i had my volume up too high, got the shit scared out of me
Look at the shadows it casts. Holy shit. That's fucking incredible.

I can imagine the massive amount of confusion this must of caused. It was like a damn bomb went off.

holy hell that's scary as shit but cool as hell
Wait. There is an asteroid that is supposed to pass soon. In the movie Armageddon, the first signs of trouble was some meteorites. I SMELL TROUBLE! D:
So how does it feel, Americans? You waited for an opportunity to greet aliens in LA and suddenly they land in Chelyabinsk, Russia. Also, have this. It shows just how bright it was. Watch from 4:15.
Whoa, if I saw that as I was driving along I would be scared as fuck. Looks awesome though, once in a lifetime thing.
A lot of people I know are saying that it was a nuke from NK.
Oh lord, the comments on that news site in the OP, full of conspiracy nuts, or spammers pretending to be conspiracy nuts.
another angle, you can really see how bright it got in this one. skip to 0:40
^ I love how people keep walking and driving as if this is all a standard day in Russia.
^ I love how people keep walking and driving as if this is all a standard day in Russia.
Chelyabinsk is notorious for it's people. They wouldn't give a single little fuck if literally mushroom cloud would raise over the horizon. Also have this, Zink plant supposedly hit by a piece of this thing. [editline]15th February 2013[/editline] Also have the explosion. Turn down your headphones' volume.
Holy shit. I should've known there'd be an impact, given how low that flew. And to make a hole that size, the thing itself can't have been larger than a tennis ball.
Holy shit! Why can't this stuff happen over New York? I wanna see a meteor shower too...
Here you go:
Oh man I hope someone caught the thing going through the sky on video, unlikely though, seeing as how it was so random and out of nowhere. This is exciting though, is this the first time we ever captured something like this on video? It's incredible looking even though all we've really seen is the huge ass overcast it caused, that and the loud as hell explosion.
holy fucking shit that's awesome
