I fucking new Square Enix was going to have it ported eventually.
I don't care if it's the original or it's gameplay-remixed PS2 remake/port. To be frank I kinda want to try out the PS2 version to see the differences.

This thread covers the ps2 version.
Interesting. I hope it's cheap but I have to try the newest one too. You gonna kill me but I haven't played any Deux Ex.
Doesn't interest me, PC Controls will reign supreme
guarantee shit'll be dumbed down
I'd like to see a DX remake, I could never get into DX, but DX:HR (ACRONYMS) is one of my top 3 games of all time
How far did you get? The game already improves in Hell's Kitchen, and a couple levels later in Hong Kong it's awesome.
Oh hell yes.

The original Deus Ex actually got dumbed down so they could also port it to the playstation version.
Meaning to play the original, but I can't figure out what I'm doing, I can't hit anything for squat.
If it's the PS2 version this will suck majorly.
Reminds me I need to play Deus Ex. I beat HR and it was awesome, so I picked the first up for 99p on ebay :v:
Please please please please.
Wouldn't mind an HD re-release either.

Cool as that is, I would not have recognized it as the UNATCO theme if the video hadn't been titled thusly.
Took some real effort for me to get through the original because the story is so cheesy and it just takes so much time until it finally has momentum. I was just beyond Hong Kong the first time, which was fairly far into the game, and it still didn't hook me.
It got a lot of things right during the buildup for the finale tho, and the finale itself. Kind of the inversion of DXHR in that regard imo.
I still have my PS2 sitting under my TV. I've been debating playing it again on PS2, but i have the PC version aswell.

"story was so cheesy"
you disgust me
:c
The original Deus-ex is really boring to me. Doesn't hold up at all, the only thing it has going for it is nostalgia. I do appreciate how they handled how open ended the story was though.
I loved deus ex, and I just played it a few years ago. Despite a few dated mechanics and graphics, it still had me wanting to play till the end.
That's odd, Pegi.Info doesn't have a Deus Ex PS3 version listed.
Did the listing get quickly taken down or was this a case of a lie being big enough for people to believe it?

Deus Ex's first level appears to be a buffer of sorts. Either you can't adapt to the odd shooting and controls and stop playing, or you adapt to them and get treated to what is arguably the greatest FPS/RPG of all time.

Are you one of those people who think the only difference in ports are the controls
90% chance it will be a ps2 classic so if that was shit, don't get your hopes up.

The PS2 classic was literally the same game with new intro and outro cutscenes (same content, but prerendered instead of in-engine) and a few more load times.
So, uh... yeah. It'll probably be pretty good.
The only question I have is who DOESN'T have a PC that can run this? Is there any point to this port?
I'd rather have a remake. Now THATS something we could sink our money into.
As much as I love Deus Ex the PS2 port was ass and just isn't worth playing
Any computer from the past 10 years should be able to run this game fine, and it's cheaper on the PC anyways
Deus Ex gets a lot better after the Statue of Liberty mission. It's like the Taris/Citadel of the game.

beat the first two missions then we'll talk
The first 2 missions are basically a test to see if you can play the game.
