European Union leaders have reached a landmark deal to cut greenhouse emissions by 40% by 2030, compared with 1990 levels.
The decision was agreed after heated discussions at a summit in Brussels, as some members had argued that their varied interests should be protected.
Correspondents say it could make the EU a leader again in climate policy.
This is stupid, and only give socialist shit parties more fuel to introduce a extreme tax on such things that keep a country going, such as oil. Just another reason to disapprove of a fascist government.
I'm pro-emissions
First my powerful vacuums, now my greenhouse gases.
When will we rid ourselves of this Tyranny
Despite my avatar, i'm actually researching a system which automatically balances carbon sources and carbon sinks. And prehaps creates news industries and economical growth. (Side effects, some prices may rise a little).
So when do we get to hear about the typical short-sighted "Let's tax the living piss out of gasoline and ignore coal/natural gas power plants entirely!" action that this will inevitably produce?

I am on a strict bean diet that raises my own personal emissions. I call the area within twenty feet of me the "security bubble" because no one else will venture inside.
If you count the EU as a unit, their emissions are #3 behind the US and China. Anything they (and we) can do to cut emissions is worth doing.
