Hopefully it isn't completely flat like in the picture, otherwise it doesn't look like anything holds it in place. Something I like about the current usb types is how firmly they click in (assuming you don't have a shitty cable)
okay seriously what's up with the fuzz about these types of cables is it such a big deal to spend 200 milliseconds turning around a cable if it doesn't fit right the first time around?
And thus began a period of World Peace.
okay seriously what's up with the fuzz about these types of cables is it such a big deal to spend 200 milliseconds turning around a cable if it doesn't fit right the first time around?
I'm mostly hyped for the massive speed and power upgrade, the bipolar connector is just a bonus
I just hope it doesn't cost a lot to buy adaptors that convert existing equipment to the new port.
this is the greatest invention since canned bread
this is the greatest invention since canned bread
Sliced bread, sliced.
I just hope it doesn't cost a lot to buy adaptors that convert existing equipment to the new port.
They're not going to completely abandon the existing USB standards just for this instantly.
Great, now how the fuck are we supposed to get it out of the superposition if we can't even see which way it's facing?
Great, now how the fuck are we supposed to get it out of the superposition if we can't even see which way it's facing?
Never look at it.
Great, now how the fuck are we supposed to get it out of the superposition if we can't even see which way it's facing?
Just the fact that you looked at it will be enough for the components to align on the forth dimension.
okay seriously what's up with the fuzz about these types of cables is it such a big deal to spend 200 milliseconds turning around a cable if it doesn't fit right the first time around?
Well some people are fucking retarded and will try to force a USB cable in the wrong way because it looks "close enough" instead of thinking it can be rotated around.
okay seriously what's up with the fuzz about these types of cables is it such a big deal to spend 200 milliseconds turning around a cable if it doesn't fit right the first time around?
I get what you mean but I can see this being very useful in situations where the port is behind a tight fit or there isn't a lot of room to see where it is
okay seriously what's up with the fuzz about these types of cables is it such a big deal to spend 200 milliseconds turning around a cable if it doesn't fit right the first time around?
why not innovate on things even if its a small improvement?
Too small. Too fragile. I can already see problems with sheared connectors.
And I thought the adapter hell was bad enough already. I wish we just had one good micro standard from the beginning instead of the gradual improvements that many older devices rely on.
this is the greatest invention since canned bread
is canned bread really that high on the inventions list for you?
Too small. Too fragile. I can already see problems with sheared connectors.
why not just use COM ports for everything [editline]14th August 2014[/editline] doesn't the smaller shape and shorter design make it more rigid and easier to fall out i pressure is applied to the top or bottom
shilling 2 years is hardly several years, the 30-pin connector before that was one-side only as well
But the new USB cables will not connect into the current ports that are found on millions of devices.
I was gonna complain about this but then I realised every device I own will be outdated in half a decade anyway so USB-C will be normal by then
Snip
Why don't they just make USB plugs circular? Like a headphone jack, but larger? Wouldn't have to worry about reversing it then.
Why don't they just make USB plugs circular? Like a headphone jack, but larger? Or if you meant the headphones style of a kind of jacket around a shaft, I don't know, never thought of that.
I dunno, something like this but bigger.
