Improvements. -a less confusing sync button? -two more usb ports -an hdmi cable
-Updated hardware -GamePad tablet -HD could also work for previous Wii titles (speculation)
i hope it still runs gamecube games
Nintendo's Ko Shiota also notes that every system comes with an HDMI cable as a standard accessory.
Fucking thank you
-Updated hardware -GamePad tablet -HD could also work for previous Wii titles (speculation)
keep dreaming
i hope it still runs gamecube games
Gamecube support was dropped.
It has a bigger internal harddrive I think, so downloading Gamecube games off the virtual console may be possible in the future.
I hate how Nintendo phased out backward compatibility. I have dozens of Gamecube discs and Gameboy Advance carts that I cant do anything with.
Faceplates would be a nice improvement. Wood-grain style Wii U would be cool.
I hate how Nintendo phased out backward compatibility.
I hate how Nintendo phased out backward compatibility. If you're gong to bitch about a lack of compatibility for, then just hold onto your GameCube or Wii or GBA.
keep dreaming
Snip, misunderstood.
I hate how Nintendo phased out backward compatibility. I have dozens of Gamecube discs and Gameboy Advance carts that I cant do anything with.
I have dozens of N64 and SNES games that don't plug into the wii U, damn you Nintendo!!!
It has a bigger internal harddrive I think, so downloading Gamecube games off the virtual console may be possible in the future.
It has a relatively small SSD, but it will apparently support external HDDs
guys if you have a reasonable PC these days you can emulate Gamecube games pretty easily or just drop a nominal amount of cash on a wii + gamecube controller
Shame that the Wii U doesn't have at least one or two USB 3.0 ports, especially in the case of external harddrives. It's a minor detail, but anything that can future-proof the console would be a good thing.
Fucking thank you
20cm cable clearly :v:
The problem is, and this is a misinformed opinion as I don't know the tech behind it, if it has Backward compatibility with Wii Games then why not Gamecube games? I thought Wii was more or less a Gamecube anyway. I'm betting that one reason is they didn't want to include Gamecube controller ports on the system. The other is simply greed and wanting to resell Gamecube titles on their store. That said, hopefully when they release Gamecube games on the store, they're decently priced (Around $15-$20).
I wonder how the WiiU will turn out. No matter how it's presented, the controller still looks very gimmicky to me. Hope they'll just focus on good games instead of trying to force "new ways to game" out of something that loses its appeal after a few months.
I hate how Nintendo phased out backward compatibility. I have dozens of Gamecube discs and Gameboy Advance carts that I cant do anything with.
Used gamecubes cost like 30 dollars...
Used gamecubes cost like 30 dollars...
Where? The most expensive one I've seen in recent memory was $16.
Does everybody just throw out their old consoles when a new one comes out?
I have dozens of N64 and SNES games that don't plug into the wii U, damn you Nintendo!!!
Well I cant emulate them on my computer, so yes. I dont see what the hostility is for.
I hate how Nintendo phased out backward compatibility. I have dozens of Gamecube discs and Gameboy Advance carts that I cant do anything with.
Keep your old consoles around.
I still have a GBC, GBA, Dreamcast, N64, Gamecube
Where? The most expensive one I've seen in recent memory was $16.
Do me a favour and look up the price of a used copy of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
Do me a favour and look up the price of a used copy of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
It's $25 at bookmans. And he was talking about game cubes not games :P

Got to play Zombi U, Rayman Legends and Assassin's Creed 3. These are supposed to be the less gimmicky games that were available at the Nintendo booth, and they didn't feel gimmicky. Instead, they were surprisingly fun and captivating.
You can't? I can play Wii games and Gamecube games on my PC just fine.
It requires a good CPU to emulate those, my CPU isn't bad and I have trouble emulating them myself.
