More job opportunities for game developers, and with such a great studio. Sounds like awesome news.
REDengine 3 can be so damn pretty. I can't wait to see what else comes of it.
That's pretty nice, but I think it'll have plenty of trouble competing with the behemoth that is the Unreal Engine, which besides supporting a wide variety of games and platforms, also has a very user friendly developer tools. Even the list of games that are build on the CryEngine is dwarfed by Unreal's list.
Please be in Boston. Please be in Boston. Please be in Boston.
Isn't that because cryengine is ridiculously expensive to license and UE3 is free?
UE3 is free? UDK is free, but the license for UE3 can't be free. How would Epic do that.
It's free up until you earn a certain amount from sales if I'm not mistaken.
Free for non-commercial, $99 for a commercial license but after you earn $50k Epic will take 25% of profits recieved on top of that amount as royalties. Then you can license the full engine and I dunno the cost of that, it's always different.
