Former Halo music composer Marty O’Donnell has filed a lawsuit against game maker Bungie and its chief executive, Harold Ryan, for failing to pay him for unpaid vacation time, paid time off, and other benefits. The lawsuit gives a a small window into the happenings at a major game maker, which created the Halo series of video games and is now working on the online shooter game Destiny for Activision.O’Donnell was fired on April 11 as audio director at Bellevue, Wash.-based Bungie “without cause,” according to the lawsuit. He was hired in May 2000 and produced the pulse-pounding music that helped make Halo a runaway hit. Over its lifetime of sales, Halo has grossed an estimated $3.4 billion, according to the lawsuit, which was filed in Superior Court in King County in Washington. Wow christ, this is something I didn't expect. Hopefully bungie don't be dicks about it.
Weird, I can't seem to edit the OP. Marty's Lawsuit http://www.scribd.com/doc/228398397/Marty-O-Donnell-s-lawsuit-against-Bungie Bungie's Answer http://www.scribd.com/doc/228398410/Bungie-s-answer-to-lawsuit-by-Marty-O-Donnell
It's like watching your parents fighting :c
Such a shame that this happened, always hear good things about working at Bungie, how it's a good working environment and all that, then you hear stuff like this and it just makes you wonder. It's sort of similar to when Valve fired that one chick a while back and people were a little upset over it. Just goes to show how the companies we associate as being friendly and great to work at are just really good at hiding their dirty laundry.
Wish he had sued microsoft or something so maybe we might finally have a chance to get some Halo Theme scores

For example, “without cause,”
Can someone find that one pastebin (Or was it Reddit) post that an anonymous insider at Bungie put up claiming that Marty had serious attitude/ego issues, had FOX News blazing on the TV in his office, and constantly demanded obnoxious raises? Guys on GAF keep going to their conspiracy theories that Activision is behind this (Much like the old IW guys thought the Bungie/Activision partnership was part of some sort of conspiracy against them), but I'm sure there's something quite different to this that had been going on for awhile.

O'Donnell never bought that angle and something eventually gave. Jones can't stand individualism and standouts, and O'Donnell can't stand pretension. *shrug*
It's a shame he got fired in the first place, i just hope that this lawsuit doesn't end too badly.
Bungie's been such a great studio, and Marty is such a great guy. And an integral part of Bungie. I don't understand why this is happening.
Isn't Bungie P. much Infinintyward prt 2 since most of their key people left along with Halo?
The amount of people that left Bungie after Halo can be counted on one hand.
