Crossfire. [editline]05:25PM[/editline] I have a 600w Powersupply, 4gbs DDR3 1600, and a 2.6 quad core processor.
I would just get a 5850 then get another later. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102857
what does it have to be 2 cards
It doesn't. I just thought that two 5770's perform better than one 58xx
It doesn't. I just thought that two 5770's preform beter than one 58xx
It does, get that
It does, get that
The things is that a single card will perform much better in games that don't support crossfire then later you can add another 5850 for more performance.
in this case yes but that doesn't mean double card solutions are always better than single
So 5850?
no, two 5770s
If you get one 5850 now and add a second later, it'll be better than 5770 x2 (obviously). That's why it's probably better to get one 5850 now and just wait it out to get something even better, instead of having to upgrade to one completely new card when going from a crossfired setup. I have crossfired 5770's and they're great, but looking back I think I should have gone with a 5850.
Okay, I went with a 5850 From Amazon. It was 50$ cheaper than 2 5770's so... MW2 YAY!

do you have an xfire mobo
Sbradford: 304$ John, Yes yes I do.
At your budget, get 2 5770s, when the 2 5770s get old, replace it with a a single card, get $70 more and get a 5870 and your set.
What the hell are you saying?
Just get a single card, no point SLIing two mid power GPUs, just get a big powerful card.
OP, your best bet right now is a single 5850 now, then another one later. You'll get much better performance. [editline]03:19PM[/editline]
What the hell are you saying?
I think he's saying to buy two crossfire setups? Then just toss one? O.o

O.o
He said to buy two 5770's, and when they get outdated buy the 5850/70 when it's less money. To me that sounds stupid. I would go for two 5770's instead, but choosing the 5850 is fine.

Instead of 2 5850s in the future, update to 2 5870s.
If anyone here has ever used crossfire, you would know that the cards get higher temperatures, and DX9 games don't work with crossfire in windowed mode >_>, this is why I prefer a single card. EDIT: I'm saying to get 2 5770, and then when the 2 5770s get outdated, replace them with a single card solution. or if he can get $70 more, he can just get a 5870. The only reason I'm recommending the 5770s is due to his budget.

I can scrounge together the extra money for a 5870 maybe, But I'd really like to spend as little as possible.
I can scrounge together the extra money for a 5870 maybe, But I'd really like to spend as little as possible.
Get two 5770's, same price and performance for one 5850 only better (especially if you overclock it), can reach 5870's performance.
I can scrounge together the extra money for a 5870 maybe, But I'd really like to spend as little as possible.
5850 overclock to 5870. you have a 5870* *actually a 5850
No, it sounds stupid because getting two 5770's and then when they go out dated that means the 5850 will be out dated and we'll probably have 6xxx series.
The 3870 is still a pretty solid card, despite how awkward it is to say the name. If that trend is anything to go by, we'll have the 7xxx or 8xxx cards by the time the 5xxx cards are outdated.
3870x2 was a badass. 4 dvi ports...
