[release]The White Ribbon is a German film. The plot of the movie is based in a small, German farming village just prior to World War I. The community has been suddenly invaded by malice, and corruption. A 31-year-old German school teacher bears witness to these events as they slowly unfold and attempts to make sense of what has been happening in the village.[/release]
I watched this film in an effort to learn some Germansz. Only thing it came out from learning that was just learning to say 'herein' (Come in). The movie it self is very fucked up in a 'moral' sense and many of the scenes are incredibly awkward and unnerving. The worse part is that much of this is carried out because of the moral codes and standards enforced by the church, (religion things etc.)
I want to see this. Have been wanting to since it came out. Just never got a chance.
