• Tell me about water cooling

So, I live in a dusty as shit condo. There is nothing that I can really do about it, the central air system has no filters and dust is everywhere. Given that water cooling requires no fans on components and no dust is moved around inside, would this be a good solution for me? Also, how much does it cost, I have a pretty large upgrade budget approx 600 CAD. Specs: Phenom 2 955 BE Antec 900 Case HIS 4890
Converting to a water cooled system will require an investment of a few hundred dollars. To be honest, you should look more into getting a case that isn't designed to be a windtunnel. Many higher end cases (namely those from lian li) come with filters for the fans in them. That said, $600 should be enough. I, however, will leave component advice to someone who knows more about it.
The heat still needs to go somewhere, the radiator. Usually this will have fans, although if you get a large enough radiator you will be able to run it without fans.
Well, even with a large radiator collecting dust, it's easier to clean just the radiator instead of trying to get the dust out of the whole system, and an external radiator would make cleaning it even easier. You'll still need some air movement inside your computer, for the motherboard chipset and other things, but you'll need a lot less than you would without watercooling.
If you plan on keeping your Antec 900 your watercooling setup will have to be all external as that case has no good places to mount a radiator internally.

It's expensive and usually requires a lot of maintenance. Just get a good case with dust filters.
<stupid shit>
yeah except he's entirely correct
You can get quiteness too if you pick up the good coolers.
Get a case with dustfilters and save the money.
Just get a better case
:golfclap: Good job, einstein. Not really. Water cooling is MADE for overclocking.
IMHO everyone saying that you can get the same OC on air is somewhat insane.

Wait. The Antec 900 doesn't have dust filters? I thought it did... or is it just the 902 that has them? Either way I have an Antec 1200 and yes it has many fans but all intakes have speed control and dust filters, if you've got the money for water cooling then I'm sure you can grab the 1200 or atleast swap yours out for the 902 (exactly the same only smaller).
