A puppy with the word ‘fuck’ burnt into her skin with some sort of chemical has undergone cosmetic surgery. Felicity the pit-bull was found last month tied to a fence in Lexington, Kentucky, US, with a huge scar running up her left side. She was rescued by the Lexington Humane Society which has set about disguising the swear-word. The pup was likely to have been branded with a chemical paste or liquid, said Liz Ubelhor, the vet who used surgery to cover up her scar. Donations have since poured in and a $3,500 (£2,150) reward is on offer to anyone who can help police trace the person or persons responsible.
http://metro.co.uk/2014/09/21/puppy-branded-with-f-undergoes-surgery-to-cover-it-up-4876969/
People that do these things to animals are some of the worst human beings out there.
Here's a picture of the branding (probably NSFW): http://metrouk2.files.wordpress.com/2014/09/fuck1.jpg?w=644&h=366&crop=1#038;h=583
Whoever did that to the dog should be branded as well. Come at me moralfags.

I think it's great they saved it, but spending money on plastic surgery instead of putting those donations to better use is a bit stupid (donations going towards the shelters betterment or something, I dunno). If the scarring didn't impede the dog's movement or wellbeing, spending that much money because of the swear word is ridiculous.
Poor thing.

If somebody branded an unknown symbol on you would you rather cover it up or donate the money to another charity? IMO It's still gone to a good cause
Whoever did that to the dog should be branded as well. Come at me moralfags.
animals are not people
animals are not people
So abuse is more acceptable?

Also, I didn't say give to another charity, I said make better use of the donations within the shelter. If the scar isn't hurting the dog, I highly doubt he's going to look in the mirror and get a major self-esteem hit.
animals are not people
People are animals. Edit: This post isn't artistic, it's a fact.

They are covering up chemical burns on its body to help the poor thing, I can't believe some of you guys saying "oh it's not hurting the animal anymore/it's just an animal it doesn't care that it has 'fuck' branded into it/etc" like Jesus Christ, let people help the damn thing. Sure the scar might not be impeding its motion or some shit but is the surgery gonna hurt it either? What's preferable, having the poor dog run around with "fuck" chemically burned into its body or covering it up? And it's being paid for via donations.
So abuse is more acceptable?
I think what he's trying to say is that the punishment isn't eye for an eye.
I'm sorry but if you do shit like this to an animal, you have no rights to a happy life.

Like I said, if you have $3,500 donated, put it towards something meaningful like rehabilitation or training or food or some shit, not a pointless operation that only benefits the people adopting him. I'd happily adopt a dog if it had that scar on it, as long as it got on well with me and was friendly (which can be gained through rehabilitation and training). if you're going to rescue a dog, you're not going to let a scar stop you.
This shit always pisses me off. I work in an animal shelter and I see people come in all the time with animals they don't want anymore. And their animal almost always comes in, in bad shape. I have to sit there and be polite, but in the back of my mind I want to punch them.
if you're going to rescue a dog, you're not going to let a scar stop you.
That's quite naive, I bet you having "fuck" burned into it is going to be a bit of a turn off for a lot of people. "Only benefits the people adopting him" Many shelters will kill dogs if they don't get adopted, this operation is very likely to safe this dogs life.
Whoever did that to the dog should be branded as well. Come at me moralfags.
I'd rather have him do community service. It will annoy the shit out of him and keep the streets clean of litter! Also we won't act like savages.

IMO It's still gone to a good cause
I don't think the dog understands it's a "symbol". There was a scar and now there's going to be a different scar. No difference for the dog. "If I was there I would X!"
Unless you are actually going to take care of this dog yourself, this is really dumb to say. "If I was there I would X!"
Well it's something the person who would go take care of it would decide on, you know? There's chances they wouldn't mind like me, and there's chance the dog will rot in a shelter for couple years and get put down anyway.
Pretty sure it's so it can be more presentable for adoption and live a better life than when it was tortured.
I'd adopt a fuck dog and I'm pretty sure you would, too
I'd adopt a fuck dog and I'm pretty sure you would, too
Even if you'd be completely fine with a dog that had fuck written on it, every time you took it for a walk or went to the park you'd have busybodies complaining. It'd be a giant pain in the ass. Plus, you'd have people assuming that you did that to the dog.
Beginnings of a sociopath.
No that would be the person/people who branded the dog.
Pretty sure it's so it can be more presentable for adoption and live a better life than when it was tortured.
I dunno, if i ever wanted a dog, went to the adoption center and saw a dog with a "Fuck" carved into it, I would've taken it just for the fuck of it [sp]:v:[/sp]
animals are not people
We're fucking apes moron. But I bet you don't believe in evolution, do you?
So that's what the word was! They wouldn't say what word it was on WKYT. Poor dog,at least she's getting help.
