(CNN) -- The depraved acts Dr. Kermit Gosnell is convicted ofhave sparked anew turnin the nationwide battle over abortion laws. Gosnell was accused of severing the spinal cords of babies born alive after attempted abortions in the sixth, seventh, and eighth months of their mothers' pregnancies at his Pennsylvania clinic, while operating amid dangerous, deplorable conditions. A 41-year-old woman died due to an anesthetic overdose during a second-trimester abortion. Gosnell was found guilty Monday of three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of the babies, and involuntary manslaughter for the woman's death. The title of this was enough to sicken me. The article just made it worse.
I think I can speak for everyone here when I say "what the fuck"
EDIT: We want abortion to be legal and safe so that women can go to legitimate providers and we don't have to worry about these back-alley abortionists coming back. that's a quote from the article don't ban me
People like this deserve to rot.
was he like super low end or super high end because if someone died of an anaesthetic overdose and he killed babies for money it could be either...
Judging by the article's use of "Deplorable conditions" I'd say he was a super low-end doctor.
oh my jesus christ in heaven. no words. i have no words. :(

It ain't easy being green.
Good fucking riddance.
Good fucking riddance.
Yeah I don't like babies that much either. :downs:
Jesus Christ I cringed reading that title. My spine is actually tingling just thinking of that shit.

if the fetus came out alive but didn't have any chance of survival(you know since lungs aren't developed and stuff), wouldn't cutting the spinal cord be merciful? [editline]13th May 2013[/editline] that's assuming the fetuses didn't have chance of survival, though.
. I sure as fuck wouldn't let this "doctor" be the one to make that call.
this doctor? probably not. still, if it's a decision that needs to be made it needs to be made quickly to prevent suffering of the fetus.
That's the only title I've ever read that made any part of my body hurt. My spine fucking aches just thinking of someone taking a pair of scissors and snipping my spine...
if the fetus came out alive but didn't have any chance of survival(you know since lungs aren't developed and stuff), wouldn't cutting the spinal cord be merciful? [editline]13th May 2013[/editline] that's assuming the fetuses didn't have chance of survival, though.
no because it would be extremely painful and inhumane, it's the same reason for the arguments against circumcision because it's been proven that new borns do experience pain, except in this case it would be even worse furthermore the abortionist was killing the babies through such means, not saving them. he was also performing abortions during the third trimester which is highly illegal and unethical
this doctor? probably not. still, if it's a decision that needs to be made it needs to be made quickly to prevent suffering of the fetus.
Maybe I didn't pay attention but I certainly don't remember mercy killing being brought up in any of my preparing to be a parent class. I'm sure there are times when there is nothing that can be done for a newborn, but hat has to be few and far between.
The really horrible part is that there was a minor aiding this process, because she interned at that clinic as part of a school program. :suicide:

I'm sure there are times when there is nothing that can be done for a newborn, but hat has to be few and far between.
i'm talking about abortions, not parenting. i mean if you try to abort a fetus and it's still alive but has little to no chance of survival, what do you do?
the fuck?
I remember hearing about this. For awhile there was a media blackout on this because of the furor it might cause in the abortion debate. I think both people for and against abortion can agree: this guy was a monster. The plumber had to be called to his "clinic" once because the sink's plumbing was blocked up with blended baby parts.
This is absolutely disgusting but at the same time it is a very clear demonstration of the risks some women will take when they're desperate. I'm glad this bastard is gone.
I thought doctors were supposed to swear to an oath to protect life, aren't they?
I can't I just can't I can't humanity
