I've been doing swell without using Adblocker these past months. Fresh install, figured I might just ignore most ads and provide sites with some form of income - how negligible it probably is. PCGamer's site got me right back to adblock + also pretty tilted!

I just block all their shitty ads with ScriptSafe. Works wonders. Normal AdBlock is blocked by their dumb site.
sounds a bit masturbatory tbh
sure is, but hey, it sounds like it was said by a person, not by a PR team. i can't help but find it refreshing
"we can leave greed to others" says increasingly disorganized company while restarting development for the 4th time

That has nothing to do with greed. This is a weak zinger.

Greedy companies spend years drawing their work out pouring money in to it and redoing it constantly instead of just releasing it in a half-assed state to get money fast.

That's less of a greed issue, more of a "lacking direction" one.
In fact, wasting money like that is the exact epitome of greed, while it's still incompetence.

So basically what you're saying is that trying to make a less shitty game at the expense of the company itself is greedy
that doesn't even make any sense

So what you're saying is that you'd rather they take a game that they feel doesn't work and keep working on a broken game instead of stepping back, rethinking the project and replanning how they'll make it work so that they end up with a superior product in the end
Almost all games at one point have some form of restart, even if its simply in the form of scrapping old concepts and changing directions entirely. I can't think of any games that went perfectly as planned outside of shitty rushed out games like cod etc.
I may not have any interest in their games due mostly to their games simply falling outside of what I want to play, but good on 'em for sticking to what works instead of monetizing to hell and back. Always liked them as a dev even if I've little interest in playing their stuff.

I think you may have misunderstood my point. And they're not making a less shitty game at the expense of the company, they're making a less shitty game at the expense of the employees that work there. People are willing to give CDPR so much credit but if you take a look into how they manage their projects and treat their employees, you wouldn't be so quick to excuse them and put them up on a pedestal for everything they do. I've been increasingly realizing that even though their games have all been quality so far, they are heading down a road that could get more and more precarious in regards to their reputation as a game company, and the quality of their games overall.
This video is a hefty watch but it is very incriminating and revealing as to the behavior of upper and middle management at CDPR.

I'm tired of the bandwagon idea of how they can do no wrong, they are not immune to being held to a higher standard. I'm absolutely all for them restarting development as much as they want to, but it is clear there's something a bit deeper amiss here.

CDPR aint greedy but it's not like they don't have any issues at all, was my point.
That's one less concern. Still, bit worried about the game and the company considering all the news I have heard about people leaving, stress and stability.
They're not an organised company and work their staff hard, that doesn't make them suddenly not awesome towards their target market.

"wasting money"
"greed"
you can't have it both ways
