Sam Raimi bailed on last summer, but Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures soldiered on, quickly hiring "Blood Diamond" writer Charles Leavitt to punch up the script (presumably the same one that left Raimi dissatisfied with the prospect of directing the movie). They vowed to keep "Warcraft" afloat and they have done so by hiring "Moon" and "Source Code" filmmaker Duncan Jones to direct.... Moon was a great movie
fun fact: he's david bowie's son
That's David Bowie's son. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww god dammit mon
Kinda sorta unrelated, but is Moon on netflix? I've heard great things about it.
I liked Source Code.
Moon and Source Code were both fantastic, but have nothing at all in common with Warcraft. This is a really fucking weird choice of director.
I remember that Source Code sounded like an utter shit idea when I first heard about it.
fun fact: he's david bowie's son
Any man, regardless of sex, should think that David Bowie is sexy. Or weird, take your pic.

Peter Jackson jumped from making films like Dead Alive and The Frighteners to Lord of the Rings, and I think those worked out alright.
Any man, regardless of sex
Even the male men??
He's well aware that most video game adaptions suck (he's a WoW player himself) and he's been wanting to direct this for quite some time, so I don't think people should worry too much. A lot of people have just heard "WoW sucks" then make up their mind that this movie is going to be horrible.

I've heard this movie was going to be overseen by Chris Metzen, who's been working on Warcraft with Blizzard since pretty much the beginning.
Sam Riami made Evil Dead, you might be thinking of Peter Jackson's film Dead Alive/Braindead.
That's right, sorry I typed Evil Dead, and then I thought, "No wait, I meant Dead Alive," and then I deleted it and typed Evil Dead again.
I don't even know what the FUCK but... I have faith in the guy to not fuck it up. So long as no one from Blizzard has any involvement with it.
They should probably cast Wee-Man as a gnome. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] Mr. T as orc general.
fun fact the movie takes place a year before WoW. so technically they can still do Warcraft 3 lore shit.
A warcraft movie? Holy shit, this could work, warcraft has so much lore.
I'm looking forward to seeing this if it ever does come out.
I have very low expectations from this movie.
It would be awesome if the movie would follow the Frozen Throne's plot line... [this is because it's the only warcraft game I have ever enjoyed, and I very much do enjoy it]
They're taking their time with this Warcraft movie.
Just as long as Ghostcrawler doesn't get his stupid bald ass anywhere near it.

[this is because it's the only warcraft game I have ever enjoyed, and I very much do enjoy it]
it would be cooler if it didn't take place during any of the games. something like http://www.wowwiki.com/Rise_of_the_Horde or during the war of the ancients or some shit.

The reason they went to war again or something.
I thought the movie was based between War3 and World of Warcraft. The reason they went to war again or something.
im fine with that also. i just dont think it should be of anytime during the games. make it before or in between.
I've heard this movie was going to be overseen by Chris Metzen, who's been working on Warcraft with Blizzard since pretty much the beginning.
thats not necessarily a good thing what with the clichés he uses on every character and scenario
thats not necessarily a good thing what with the clichés he uses on every character and scenario
It's charming, in a "haven't we been here" sort of way.
They're taking their time with this Warcraft movie.
would you rather a shitty adaption or a quality movie?
