Hello guys,
I'm upgrading from my athlon 64 x2 3800+ to a new one. But I have some questions about compatibility and choice.
I have about 100$ USD to spend (includes arctic silver for 6$) and I'm thinking about this:

I have an asus ivy mobo
All depending on your mobo having a AM2+ socket. "asus ivy mobo" doesn't say much. Download CPU-Z and grab the specific model, but 3800+ should be a 939 socket, you can't.
if you get an extra 20 dollars you could get a 720 x3
the 3800 X2 is socket 939
you'll need a new mobo ad ram
Yeah sorry guys here's CPU Z

look on Asus's website for your mobo see if it supports am2+
My mobo isn't on their website.
missed it by 1 pin, you're still going to need a am2+ board and new set of ram. The CPU will fit but wont work with the mobo correctly, sorry
Why would I need new ram too?

Type : DDR2-SDRAM PC2-5300 (333 MHz) - [DDR2-666]
That's what PC wizard says about my ram type, you think that is ok?

And JE do you think there would be a big enough difference between the 2.5ghz celeron dual core and the 2.0ghz i have right now to pay for? (I have 150$ i could spend)
