On Friday, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) slashed the prices of 108 brands under a provision of the Drug Pricing Control Order that allows slashed the prices of 108 brands under a provision of the Drug Pricing Control Order that allows the government to fix the maximum retail price of any drug under extraordinary circumstances. The NPPA has identified more drugs used in the treatment of cancer, HIV and AIDS, TB, malaria, cardiovascular diseases, diabetics and asthma as well as vaccines for possible price controls. [/quote] But muh profits
Suck it, assholes!

Capitalism is one of the things the medical industry can do without with regards to the profit margin. We're at least rid of one monkey off our back, but I hope nobody's going to try challenging this decision.
I'm all for making a profit, and I understand this costs a LOT of money, but when you're providing fucking medication my concern for your financial wellbeing only go sofar as that you need to be able to sustain yourself and keep up research/production. Any more than that is literally putting profits over people's health and can go fuck itself.
The problem is that if you allow a company or a corporation to choose profit over well-being of people they will choose profit every time. That's the name of the game. They should just pass a law so they cant add any more than say 20% mark-up on any products in medical industry, that way they can make some sort of profit, but can't outright fuck people over.
Fucking finally some govt decisions that aid the people and not corporations.
Too bad this will never be seen in the place that needs it most, 'America the land where you are told to literally mortgage your house to buy life saving medicine that costs 10 bucks in india
