The woman is alleged to have been pushed out of the cockpit after she deflected the pilots' attentions.
"The air hostess sustained bruises and injuries on her hand," Joint Commissioner of Police (operations) Satyendera Garg said.
"There are several eyewitnesses and we are recording their statements."
The brawl kicked off on the Airbus A-320 flight from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates to Delhi.
But co-pilot Amit Khanna denied there had been a punch-up.

'Anyone' that play Flight Simulator can fly a plane, the real hardcore ones that know what the fuck buttons do, could probably land too.
Before 9/11 the cockpit doors were unlocked and open in SAS.
Since my father works as a flight-mechanic, his ID card would grant him access to any part of SAS owned aircrafts, but it wasn't neccesary, security was so chill back then.
When the weather was nice, children could come and take a look in the cockpit, and try the controls as long as the co-pilot made sure the plane had a somewhat steady course.
The pilot usually walked around in the plane talking to women/flirting with the flight crew.
