Untethered 3GS jailbreak? - Hardware & Software

I really like winterboard and the other cool jailbreak stuff, but i dont want the hassle of having to make sure my iphone never runs out of battery. Is there ANY way to get an untethered 3gs jailbreak? If not, is tethering that much of a hassle? I had it once and it was so annoying i reverted back.

The exploit has been found and it actually works, unfortunately geohot and other iphone crack teams want to wait to release the jailbreak.

It'll either be released very very soon in order to jailbreak the iPad, or when the next major update is released (OS 4.0 most probably).

GeoHot was going to release it the day before the release of the iPad in Britain. Unfortunately he found a small handful bugs before that and has delayed it with no predicted release date. I have connections bitchez :c00lbert:

Hey, who knows... maybe someone will finally get an ARM supported OS on it and actually make it into a Tablet PC.

I think it would be a good idea to wait anyway. Then Apple would be less likely to fix the exploit when 4 comes 'round.
