recently you might remember bopie posting a cool photo that he had taken in the woods. this inspired me to go out to the desert and try and do some night selfies like i had posted last year, and i decided tonight was a good night being that it was a full moon. i took with me my new 24mm lens as i thought wide angle would make it easier to do selfies. while out in the desert i took some shots, but none were really clicking. last time i brought a 50mm (i concede sam i will never give up the 50) and so working with half the focal length proved difficult to me. here are the two shots i liked best, but i am not particularly pleased with either. neither are edited at the moment but i'll pop some edits later i tried messing with shots for around an hour and then decided that this experiment had not quite worked out the way i thought, so i decided to head on home. this time though i took a different path because i didn't want to get as many thorns in me this time. walking there i got a cactus in my shoe so i wasn't down for that. in the desert things are never what they appear to be. that scary looking animal in the distance is actually just a plastic bag. the shaking bush is just the wind. the scary pile of carcasses in the distance is just... wait... what in the actual fuck is that. my heart stopped. it was a full moon but my flashlight was not very good. i however could clearly see a pile of something. i froze up, nothing in a pile could be good, i just heard some coyotes slaughtering a rabbit not that long ago, but this was way bigger than that. then i got closer. it's a fucking pile of dead fish in the desert. these fish are about 2 feet long each or bigger. like these are HUGE fish. so that is my tale of finding fish in the desert. i don't know who to report it to but something weird as fuck is going on and it's awfully close to houses and a community facility (a country club golf cart storage). either way i've never been quite so scared and disgusted in my entire life. thought i was going to die, then it's so unusual it's frightening not to mention looks to be abusive. thought it deserved it's own thread, thanks for listening
fuck yeah, i love spooky stories. though, this one isn't too spooky, definitely leaves a feeling of mystery and interest. i remember exploring the desert once in my area with a few of my good friends, and we saw a large metal square protruding from the ground. we tried to lift it, but it was actually attached to something. we spent like three hours digging around it, and found the remains of what looked like an old Model T. i'd REALLY like to know why that was buried in the desert; i'm guessing cartel related. wish i was a photographer at the time, or even had a camera with me. anyhow, the only thing i can really think of for your situation without digging too far into it, would be maybe someone was trying to start a compost pile? or maybe someone was trying to lure in an animal? i'd like to know what that rectangular thing is. edit: well shit, this makes me want to go explore the desert now. THANKS, TROG.
wait, what's so scary about this? If it's so close to houses and stuff, some guy just brought some of his old fish out there and left them for whatever reason (fuck do I know, but it's not 'supernatural').
freaked me out because its a bunch of massive dead fish nowhere near water. Plus I thought I walked in on some coyote killing scene and that I was next. The fish are way too big to be actually privately owned, I think it's dumped from the people who upkeep the golf course (has small lakes). It's just fucking gross that they would dump massive fish so close to actual houses and just leave them there. Something is def wrong with them because they haven't been eaten by animals, so they are definitely extremely rotten or something Just freaked me out a lot I was alone thought I'd share. I have more stories too I can update I just lack photos
Okay I know the mystery is solved! According to a country club employee during the monsoon season the algae in the lakes by the golf course suck up most of the oxygen in the lake. The fish then fling themselves out of the water in order to try and get oxygen, one time after it rained they found many more fish than this. So these must have been fish that did that, and they were just moved away from the course by the employees, evident by the hazard marker and being near the course building. Not exactly the best place to dispose of them, but there's the answer! I have another desert mystery I can post that I discovered last summer, I don't have photos from the event but I'll go check on it soon to see what it's like. I have photos from a disposable found on the scene, so that's something
It's a message. Haven't you see the Godfather?
