[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CxzwH5yW8AAHTZN.jpg[/t]Kris Kobach’s photo-op with President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday revealed a glimpse of the Kansas secretary of state’s one-year plan to head the Department of Homeland Security. Kobach met privately with Trump on Sunday afternoon in Bedminster, New Jersey, for about 45 minutes “to discuss border security, international terrorism and reforming federal bureaucracy,” Trump’s transition team said. An Associated Press photographer captured a high-resolution photo of Trump and Kobach, who was holding a binder and a stack of papers in his left hand that appears to be his “strategic plan for [the] first 365 days” of his run atop DHS, should Trump tap him to lead the agency. The first section of the partially obscured document highlights his plan to deny potential terrorists entry into the U.S. According to the document, Kobach wants to “[u]pdate and reintroduce” the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System, which was in effect from 2002 to 2011 . “All aliens from high-risk areas are tracked,” his plan says. Additional bullet points reveal how closely Kobach’s strategic plan aligns with the president-elect’s campaign rhetoric. The document suggests adding “extreme vetting questions for high-risk aliens.” Questions would include “support for Sharia law, jihad, equality of men and women [and] the United States Constitution,” the plan reads. Trump has likewise floated an ideological test for potential immigrants. Kobach also proposes eliminating all intake of Syrian refugees. The Obama administration admitted 12,587 Syrian refugees into the United States last year, according to State Department records. Much of the remaining text on the front page of the document is obscured by Kobach’s arm.
Politico Build the wall! Build the wall!!!! Okay, but seriously, I'm actually surprised they are going forward with it.
Ideological test for migrants. Oh boy oh boy oh boy.
You know, Trump and his ilk spout so much shit about international terror. What are their plans to curtail domestic terrorists? They know that brown people aren't the only ones prone to extremist views, right?

There's something about building actual wall in there. I already hate it.
this will also include massive restrictions on voter's rights, making it much harder for the republicans to be voted out of office next time around this is the birth of fascism, kids
Also ideological tests go against the whole "You're free to believe in what you believe" thing that the US supposedly stands for. Denying someone entry based solely on ideology is pretty damned unjustifiable. [editline]21st November 2016[/editline] The US is slipping slowly away from "Freedom" to "Free to believe in what we do"
If not knowing what's in the Constitution grounds for being banned from the country, then a lot of Americans are going to get deported.
Starting with Trump.
Though the first word of the next section is covered, Kobach is likely calling for the incoming administration to deport a “Record Number of Criminal Aliens in the First Year.” Trump has said criminal aliens in the country illegally will be deported first.
How do you do this? Are we talking immigrants already in jail or immigrants who are committing crimes but haven't been caught by the police? I have so many questions!
Gotta reduce that whopping 12k Syrian refugees we took in to zero next year. We can't take another population boost like that.
Can we just put the US government on auto-pilot and impeach the whole Trump administration?
Having illegals in the country isn't really a bad thing though is the problem, the jobs they "steal" are the jobs that most people wouldn't take anyways. They usually end up paying taxes one way or another anyways. Also, anyone else find it weird that the Republican party thinks that illegals from Mexico steal jobs, but at the same time hold the belief that they're lazy?

Logical contradictions don't matter, they're too complicated and should be done away with and replaced by name calling The republicans have been leaning fascist for years and years. This is the next logical step for them - mass deportations, walls, and voter restrictions on any demographic likely to vote democrat in the next election

Why should we be any different?

They are completely anti-democracy

If we were to compare the average citizen with the average illegal of the same socioeconomic group I have little doubt that they'd both be costing the state the same amount of money, and likely putting about the same back into the economy at the same time. The only real problem with illegal immigrants is that a lot of them come to the US to find work so that their families dont die. This has the unfortunate effect of causing money to be taken out of the US economy
Federally enforce it equally, give out voter IDs for free and you will be equal Forcing the poor to pay to vote is discrimination, sorry [editline]22nd November 2016[/editline] I am sorry if I am being rude in refusing to take a think tank infographic at face value but Do you have better sources and an explanation as how they cost money
Almost all states give ID's for free. Considering you are required to have identification for employment, getting government benefits, and most other things, the argument doesn't really fly all that well. You can also use a drivers license, which does have a photo of you. I'm hard pressed to understand why the poor have such a hard time having a photo ID, yet it's required for practically everything.

It costs quite a bit to get an ID. In california a new ID is gonna cost you 29$. A passport is gonna cost you even more. If you're missing your SSN, your birth certificate, or any other required documents it can cost far, far more. Furthermore getting an ID card takes time out of your day, something people who are working 2 jobs in order to survive simply cannot do. Furthermore if you have no permanent address then you also can't get an ID as it has to be mailed to you. Its the same way in most states I've been in. You're outright lying at this point
Also, anyone else find it weird that the Republican party thinks that illegals from Mexico steal jobs, but at the same time hold the belief that they're lazy?
Schroeidegner's Immigrant. Stealing all the jobs while simultaneously not working and sucking up welfare.
Mexico has voting ID laws, Canada has voting ID laws, pretty much every country in the world has voting ID laws. In order to get benefits, you are required to have an ID, and usually they are subsidized when you visit the offices to get your benefits. Seriously, the point I'm getting at is that you require an ID for so many things. Hell, you need a social security number for filing out for several things, why not have it so you are required to give your SSN?
