cool.
Rift was a pretty well designed game, and certainly looked good, but besides the rift public quests it did almost nothing new about it. That being said it's sitting at around 2 million subscribers currently, so I guess working mechanics take precedence over innovation. I'll stick with WoW in any case.
Bought this already. Also, the world event starts tomorrow.
Why play a WoW clone when LOTRO deviates from the standard WoW clone a bit and innovates with a few things while remaining free?
Because it's actually really good. It's a great WoW clone.

I levelled up to 50 on my own with beastmaster spec, just questing. I found it fun. Where in WoW, I got to 60 and quit. I'm in an awesome guild now and do raids most days, which makes it even more fun.

I would have kept playing Rift if the dungeon finder worked better and the player base was a bit more. The thing that keeps me coming back to WoW is the player base, polish and the fact its got tons of content.
