I use my HP 1tb external drive for backing up my stuff. I just wanted to know how to get the information off it when it is lost, like say I delete a very important picture, how would I get it back. Also I want to know why my external hard drive has a lot more space taken up on the drive.

Go up the stairs. What do you do when you want to go down them? The same thing, but in the opposite direction.
