I hope this means they are going to work on a new burnout game instead. It's been 8 years since Burnout Paradise came out, and nearly 5 since that Burnout Crash spinoff came out too.
oh you mean extreme drifting?
Go figure. For some reason I expected this to never see the light of the day. It's a real shame
a lot of the original criterion games went and formed "three fields entertainment" who are creating dangerous golf (burnout but golf).
they said they are going to create a spiritual successor to burnout too

Golf doesn't seem to be doing very well, especially considering it took them 11 days after release to add KB&M support (that doesn't even have rebinding or non-qwerty support).
You know what, in the midst of all these remasters coming out in the past year, I want a Burnout 3 remaster. That game was the shit.

8 years, wow. That game aged really well
I wasn't really a fan of burnout paradise. I'd like to see a return to takedown or revenge style.

for all its weak points as a burnout game, it was a great open world arcade experience. Burnout 3 remains my favorite in the franchise though.
