Chinese state-owned train manufacturer, China CNR, will recall 54 bullet trains, as problems continue to plague the industry. The particular models were used on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail line, the firm said in a statement. The announcement comes a day after officials placed a temporary halt on all new high-speed rail projects. The government continues to face public fury over a crash that killed 40 people last month. The incident, which took place on a separate high-speed rail line near Wenzhou, lead to allegation of mishandling on the part of authorities and has called the country's flagship project into question. This after the rail link between Shanghai and Beijing had already run into delays because of power cuts and technical reasons after it was launched in June. The State Council said on Thursday that safety checks would be carried out on existing lines, speed limits would be enforced and the safety of all new projects would be re-evaluated before being approved. "We will suspend for the time being the examination and approval of new railway construction projects," the council said in a statement. However, the council also said: "China will unswervingly continue its development of high-speed railways."
**SOURCE** I guess this is the result of a country where industry is so fast pace, the ability to perform QA isn't really affordable or feasable.
Are bullet trains transfered by train or by truck?
Are bullet trains transfered by train or by truck?
by bullet, duh
This sucks, it would make my trip from Hong Kong to Guangzhou so much faster. 2 hours decreased to 40 minutes.
Are bullet trains transfered by train or by truck?
They got this giant gun you see...
They got this giant gun you see...
And didn't have enough gun powder to use so called bullet train.
Man, I actually feel pretty bad for everyone involved in this whole thing. Nobody likes to see a business fail, but when they have to recall fifty-four locos, that's terrible.

Looks like China's high-speed rail companies need to cool their guns.
shouldn't the title be "Chinese manufacturer"? /grammar nazi.
China is so big they manufacture other Chinas.
No room in China we make new China!!
Jesus I took the bullet train on the track of the crash that same day. When I got in the hotel and I saw the news... It's good that they are checking the trains though.

This technique doesn't seem to work as well for bullet trains. Who'da thought?

Who'da thought?
UTDC was kind of the same way when Scarbourgh bought their ICTS trains and ended up with a system so buggy that it was almost unuseable and part of the track had to be permanently closed because the trains could not make the corner. The UTDC however wasn't really reputable though other than their reputation with streetcars.
China: Quantity>Quality.
China: Quantity>Quality.
That is why they are recalling all those trains, repairing and improving them.
I just moved here so it was suppose to come up soon to save time to see my family :/
Don't they have planes?
China: Quantity>Quality.
Manufacturers in the United States are no better, all of the stealth fighters in the US Air Force are grounded, due to faulty oxygen systems in the F-22s and a valve problem in the F-35s.
Don't they have planes?
Train tickets are infinitely cheaper than plane tickets.
I guess you could say their railway plans misfired.
