• 2014 Volkswagen Golf or 2014 Scion tC?

I am turning in my 2013 Honda Civic Coupe in a few days and I am thinking of either getting a 2014 Volkswagen Golf (with convenience package) or a 2014 Scion tC. As far as I know, both cars aren't really modifiable (body kits, spoiler, etc.). I could be wrong but I am having a difficult time choosing between the two. Both cars are within my budget and I would really appreciate any input! The price doesn't matter too much, just don't want to end up with the wrong deal for the next 6 years or so. Hell, I would take any other recommendations within the $190-$200+ per month price range =)
Golf, or a Focus or even Fiesta. Or a Mazda 3, Basically any hatchback, really. They're all good choices.
I personally would go for the Golf or a Fiesta... The Golf will have a good selection of aftermarket / oem upgraded parts to choose from, and tell you the truth I don't see why you would change it to begin with... But I'm hearing good things from the new 2014 Dodge Dart... 2 people I know of now have the "Areo" version of it and they are LOVING the gas mileage... (Haven't sat in one but I expect it to have uncomfortable seats as all domestic vehicles have.)

Both of my parents' cars are domestic and their seats are pretty good too. I've ridden in a fair amount of non-domestic modern cars(I also test drove a 2012 Golf GTI) and their seats are no better than our domestic ones. Though that said, I did spend a couple of truly torturous weeks in a 2012 Chevy Impala and its seats are like sitting on boiling asphalt while covered in gasoline and on fire.
Styling on the Dart sucks. The interior on the Fiesta sucks (but I hear the tiny turbo'd version is peppy). The Tc has always been a solid choice.. strong Toyota engineering behind it, it feels like driving a sporty Corolla basically. The Golf is a good choice, too.. but I feel like the driving experience of Volkswagens has gone down in recent years and they've got less road feel (in the case of the Jetta, at least). The interior material quality is way up, though, I feel. No more soft touch chippable plastics.

I like to have my lumbar support and layed back to the b pillar. [editline]30th May 2014[/editline]
Styling on the Dart sucks. What's your complaints about the Civic? I know the Coupe is the rather neglected model but the new Sedan is supposed to be a pretty damn good car. The 2012/2013 cars were pretty bad. If I was looking at a new car though I'd be looking to the new Accords. I personally like the Dart's styling, it's blatantly a re-badge as the sportiest compact Dodge/Chrysler ever made since the 80's was the Neon. However, that's entirely a good thing as they are rebadging a car that doesn't suck like if they made their own platform. I think the new Mazda 3 is absolutely hideous, they completely ruined it now. The front end sticks out like 6 feet and looks like they just welded the new Mazda 6 front end onto a 3. It doesn't fit the peppy, fun economical hatchback look at all. The Fiesta and Golf are decent choices too.

All of our cars(Even the PT Cruiser) have electric lumbar, and all but the Cruiser have 6-way electric seats. Hell, both my parents' cars have heated leather seats, and the F-150's are even air conditioned. However, I have ridden in a Jeep Liberty(A 2005 or something, mind you), and it was like riding inside a cement mixer. Completely uncomfortable in every way. So really it's exactly the same as all cars. Some are just plain miserable to sit in. Goes for domestic and import.
Until very recently all domestics that werent top of the line luxury models were awful and cheap
Fiesta RC

Refer to the other discussions in this section that other people with 3's also have broken A/C. They also tend to rust faster than other cars.
Impreza!!!!
Do NOT get a Scion TC. This should be a no-brainer.
Do not get a Scion anything.
Why?? Toyota isn't what they used to be, but they're not as shitty as a GM product
Don't get a GM anything either.
Here is everyone telling not to get brands they dislike and get brand they like. :v:
Here is everyone telling not to get brands they dislike and get brand they like. :v:
False. [editline]31st May 2014[/editline] There are people here that do not circle jerk over one brand.
False. [editline]31st May 2014[/editline] There are people here that do not circle jerk over one brand.
Well these kind of people sure are rare on car forums.

Mazdaspeed 3's are cool and so are Golfs hard to choose.
Says the man with the VW embedded Audi avatar.
They're two brands, not one :downs:
Mazdaspeed 3's are cool and so are Golfs hard to choose.
I'd do speed 3 over a golf any day.
I'd do speed 3 over a golf any day.
I'd go for the Speed3 also unless it was a MK4 R32 or the brand new Golf R. However, they don't make the Speed3 anymore, he's looking for a new car and the new 3 is disgustingly ugly
Wait they stopped making the Mazdaspeed 3? Why?
[t]http://www.roadandtrack.com/cm/roadandtrack/images/li/D_MY14_Mazda3_09-lg.jpg[/t] They made a new model, they just haven't made a Mazdaspeed version of it.
Says the man with the VW embedded Audi avatar.
Notice my post also contained a Fiesta and a Dart? All 3 cars are great and cant go wrong with any of them... [editline]1st June 2014[/editline] Come on... I wanna start some shit! I'm right everyone else is [del]wrong[/del] right... [editline]1st June 2014[/editline] Best way to really say... Take what best suits your needs and desires, most cars now days are generally great.
all those rating me disagree must not have driven by a mazda dealership recently because the new mazda 3 and 6 look amazing
Yep, the 6 is a really, really nice looking sedan. Perhaps the most attractive consumer level sedan on the market.
