Sid Meier's Starships was a game the was very recently released on Steam in March 2015. Now, i've been quite a fan of Sid Meier's Civilization series, and when I first heard about Starships being anounced, which was some time after Beyond Earth was out I got rather excited, because I imagined it to be a game with great space battles and domination. However, it wasn't until shortly before it came out that I found out it wasn't going to be as advanced as the Civilization games, and it was very much a tablet based game, but was also being released on Steam. Having played the game I can say for sure that it is a very tablet based game, you can tell just by the look and feel of it. However, it is still a fun game to play. My main dislikes about it is that it's rather repetitive, and the games doesn't last particularly long. One of the main reasons I feel they don't last long is because there is a default win setting where by you automatically win the game if your borders reach 51% of the space, or you lose if an opponent gets there first. For me 51% is way too low, it should really be something like 75%. 51% is too quick to reach and seriously cuts down the length of gameplay. That's my main gripe about the game. Apart from that it is an enjoyable game, despite the negativity it has received from many people.
