Can't say I'm really thrilled.
"Angry Birds is not just about the game-play," he said. "It will, in the future, be less and less about the slingshot and more about the characters and their adventures and all different kinds of games in different forms."
Why is it so hard to come up with new IP all of a sudden. I mean yeah, Angry birds is a big well known thing now, but you could at least have something else surely with all the money they make.
They've already made promo cartoons for it, which were pretty fun.

They already have something tremendously popular, why make something that people might not care about?
I don't think I'm ok with this.
Angry Birds are pretty one-dimensional characters. (Well, they are angry, but that's it) I don't know how they can turn something like that into a decent cartoon.
Guy who made Angry birds is sitting real fuckin' pretty right now.

i don't care
Guy who made Angry birds is sitting real fuckin' pretty right now.
Not necessarily, once the popularity of angry birds dies out the company that makes them will either have to make something new or go out of business. At best case they make something that is a lot less popular than angry birds, at worst case they go bankrupt. It really isn't a healthy business plan to have only 1 thing.

Pig genocide, now on your TV!
It's being marketed to kids, primarily. Whatever.
Angry Birds is a far too narrow franchise to be as big as Mario and Sonic. Just my opinion.
I don't really like this stupid expansion of angry birds, but basically they've got a Viva Pinata thing going on here
I dunno, the cartoon shorts I've seen already from them are fun to watch (I still love the Mighty Eagle Reveal Cartoon Short). Plus, the episodes are 3 minutes short. It isn't a full length cartoon episode, heck, each episode is shorter then one episode of Adventure Time or Regular Show.
Cool.
they really are gonna milk the ever living fuck out of this, aren't they
I wish people would stop with this shit, you would have to be immensely retarded to drop a highly successful franchise, there's no logical reason for them to stop doing things with Angry Birds.
I wish you would stop getting butt hurt over someone else's opinion. Edit: I find it more as a fact, actually.
How are they milking Angry Birds? They've only made three fucking games.
It's more so the point that due to it's popularity, they can pretty much release loads of merchandise and profit off of every single thing they release.
Um, but aren't all the "animations" in the game just comics or panning pictures with sound effects?
How are they milking Angry Birds? They've only made three fucking games.
This cartoon, the stores, stuffed animals, etc. There's like 5 versions of the first game, Seasons, Christmas, Easter, and some other ones.
I thought this was an April Fool's joke
Merchandise? Are you fucking serious? You do realize literally every even remotely popular thing in the world has merchandise right? Also what's wrong with profiting off things? Should valve stop releasing games and shut down Steam because they profit off of it? Should we shut down all farms world wide because they make profit?
I should have been a little more descriptive for merchandise. I meant pretty much any form of item or service being sold under the Angry Birds name. Nothing is wrong with profiting off of things but you can just tell that the company is trying to milk the name for everything it is worth when they branch out so much. Perhaps I was being a little vague and in direct though/still am. Not good with describing.
Guy who made Angry birds is sitting real fuckin' pretty right now.
And to think, it all started by stealing and reskinning a free flash game to sell on ipods. I love creativity this generation.

rovio is laughing all the way to the bank
