I always thought that on forums that banning was a way to moderate the crap of the forum from the stuff you want to read about. I even saw someone banned for being right. Kinda' funny eh? All I'm asking is: What is your opinion on the Ban Hammer? By the way: This is not a ban-me thread.

Anyways, I have respect for the mods, and I know they are only doing their jobs. So if someone gets banned, 99% of the time its for the right reasons, even if people might not like it.

I got banned by a mod once as a joke. i said "I brought the Banhammer!" and the mod banned me for the reason "Me too!" then he unbanned me with the reason "Just kidding! :)"

I once got told by some mod who had a short name who I can't remember, but then again I was banned. Mods do their jobs fine.

The mods are actually good.
I think some of the bans are a little extreme, but for the most part the mods do alright.

There will be times where I feel that a permaban is going a bit too far, but other than that the moderation around here keeps things idiot-free.
Before opening the thread I knew the OP would have at least 2 bans.
I rather dislike "The Couch", imho.
Our moderation is fine but I times I feel we do not hold the man power to cover the entire forum for some rules.

I have never been baned yet but from what i have seen, many many hammers that hit the asses of retards/trolls. The system here is fine.
Honestly, I miss the days of Facepunch where you could and would be banned for nothing at all. I miss the ban happy mods and reading through old threads where half the people in them were banned. I even miss the smartness system, god that was nice having auto bans for people who were stupid and used terrible spelling or ban words.
I think that in most cases, if people get banned, they didn't think before posting. But there seems to be some ambiguity about what's not acceptable, as people frequently complain in the RC that they didn't know what they did was bannable, that they saw other people get away with it etc. I don't think it would have any negative impact if they brought back at least the rules list.
