Just a few months ago, we got official word on the "Iron Man 3" release date, and while we can make a few educated guesses about the plot of the third film in Jon Favreau's blockbuster franchise, we're not really sure what to expect when the movie hits theaters in 2013. We're not worried, though, because even Favreau himself isn't sure what "Iron Man 3" or the rest of Marvel's movie universe will be like a few years from now, either. "I don't know a lot about 'Thor,'" Favreau told MTV News when we visited him at the "Cowboys & Aliens" editing studio. "I've talked to ['Thor' director] Kenneth Branagh. I've met the cast members. I had a conversation with ['Avengers' director Joss Whedon] in passing, giving him my two cents about the film." Although he hasn't seen the script for "The Avengers" yet, Favreau said he's eager to see what the next few years have in store for the Marvel movie universe — especially since he sees "Iron Man 3" as a sequel to all the Marvel Studios movies that come before it. "In theory, 'Iron Man 3' is going to be a sequel or continuation of 'Thor,' 'Hulk,' 'Captain America' and 'Avengers,'" he said. "This whole world... I have no idea what it is. I don't think they do either, from conversations I've had with those guys." Favreau indicated that the fluid nature of Marvel's films up to, during, and even after filming makes it difficult to predict the exact nature of the movie universe when it comes time for "Iron Man 3." With so many things likely to change between now and when the first word is written in the "Iron Man 3" script, the filmmaker said he's can't even venture a guess about what will be going on with Tony Stark when he returns to his solo adventures. "Honestly, right now 'Captain America' and 'Thor' are their big priorities, and you learn things by shooting and making movies," he explained. "The script is one thing, but when you actually see what you land on at the editing room — especially with Marvel where they film, cut, film some more and shape the film — you really learn as you go." "Iron Man 3" is currently scheduled for a May 13, 2013, premiere in theaters.
Man they are churning those things out at an alarming rate. I barely had a chance to see the first one before the second one was out.

Another Iron Man? Holy shit.
Is there going to be a Foreskin Man movie?
Well if they continue to have Robert Downey Jr. Then I will instantly see them.

Sounds like it will be an overcomplicated pile of shit.
this is getting kind of silly these are movies, not comic books.
Mind adding a source to the OP? Also, everyone who has watched Iron Man knew they'd do something like this. I do find it a little extreme they're mashing so many characters into one movie though.
I think it's better this way. Otherwise they would just be making more origin stories where a guy gets super powers, meets a girl, and kills the bad guy. This at least is keeping things interesting.
mmm, money
Well production is getting faster and in my opinion Iron Man 2 was pretty good, considering.
I imagine they can make movies quicker given that they've got all the props and all the shit they need to shoot it in supa dupa hd/3d and tack on whatever bullshit gimmick'll be around then.

Yeah I think I will pass on this after what was Iron Man 2. I was pretty disappointed by it. It was an alright movie but it was not anywhere near as good as the first one, and lost a lot of the atmosphere the first one had going. And switching out the guy who played his friend wasn't a smart move either.
Why can't they just have Ironman on his own and not include the rest ffs im a big Ironman fan but i dont wanna see the movie flaked down by all the avenger's bullshit like number 2.
I got one of those telephone surveys about these three movies a few months ago. The way they presented it, the Thor movie isn't half bad.
