we have little to no usable cookware in the house and some of the usable cookware is broken, so I've hated cooking these past few years, but then I stir-fried some shit over at my girlfriend's house and it felt so satisfying and easy to do that I just wanna go out and buy some pots and pans and a meat thermometer and get cooking.

Invest in some Cast Iron pans as well. They do require a little maintenance ie. scrubbing/seasoning, but I love the set I have. I have one from Cracker Barrel that's been with me for over 15 years and it still looks good as the day my parents bought it. They're good for all sorts of cooking projects and can last forever.
