Urban Exploration: Old East German Recreational Home Edition

I went on an Urbex trip with one of my friends last week.
We explored an old FDGB - vacational home that was closed down in 1990.
I decided to take some pictures with my phones camera, and a few actually turned out pretty well.
Now to some background information.
FDGB=Freier Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund=Free German Trade Union Federation; this place was pretty much a cheap "hotel" that was funded by the state for FDGB-members, allowing vacations for those who normally could not afford any. Glorious Soviet times!
Now, to introduce the location.
The "Fritz-Heckert-Heim":

This was the tower-like structure that made up the entrance area.

A large section of windows near the entrance. For some reason, we climed inside through the windows instead of using the nearby doorway.
Adventurous we are.
After climbing through the window, we found this large hall full of grafittis, with a concrete platform which I assume could have been a stage.

We decided to go into the next room.

It's not that easy to capture its feel with just a crappy mobile phone camera, but I still think that it's got a pretty eerie touch to it.

A small bath(?)-room. Amazing to see those tiles to be still intact after 20 years of vandalists, hobos, sprayers, nazis, punks and paintballers!

I think my friend actually went in there, so did I. But we went out shortly and tried not to shake up all the damn dust and lung-devastating particles.

We took a walk on this roof afterwards.

We then went on our way back, where my friend made a picture of this little hole that I was completely unaware of.

This leads back to the entrance hall. Nice.
And this is the end of our expedition to the ol' Heckertheim.
I'm certain that we will return one day, this time with a proper camera.
I'll stay on the lookout for more good urbexing opportunitys in my area, seems like East Germany is a good location.
Nobody knows why, but theres loads of closed factories, warehouses and other buildings here :v:

After coming back for another visit, I can now share [i]even more[/i] awesome pictures of this great site with you.
My friend brought a decent camera and I made a few more pictures with my phone as well.
We visited the basement this time, where we discovered even more cool stuff.
If you've viewed the older pictures throughly you might notice that in this short time a few things have changed.
A few items disappeared that were there before, some barrel and cloth were thrown over and a matress was moved from a hallway to the roof. :tinfoil:

Well, I've heard about hobos shifting their shifts there sometimes, I actually saw some matrasses they left in the building.
I let my pal take a picture of me on it.
Now I'm a superhobo with SuperAIDS.
I guess theres also some punks and nazis who have had partys there and might still have them sometimes, but not recently.
There was also pink spots of paint everywhere on the walls, so I guess theres the paintballers as well :v:
I've been trying to find for years an abandoned building in my city. It appears that they simply don't exist in third world countries.

That's what I was thinking. Some of my older friends who did URBEX wore full respirators (Worked at a paint shop, so they just used those). I've been looking to get into it, but I'd need a better kit for it.

It's dangerous breathing that too though, the dust is literally little splinters of glas.
