Hello. I am going to make a coustom-built gaming desktop soon. i have been trying to find a cost effective major upgrade from my old pc. my price range is $0-$1000 comfortable, $1000-$2000 fine with, 2000-2500 MAXIMUM. these are my old computers specs: Motherboard Manufacturer TOSHIBA Model KSRAA Version PQX32U-02F017B Chipset Vendor Intel Chipset Model PM45 Chipset Revision 07 Southbridge Vendor Intel Southbridge Model 82801IM (ICH9-M) Southbridge Revision 03 BIOS Brand TOSHIBA Version V1.70 Date 11/06/2008 CPU Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P7350 Cores 2 Threads 2 Name Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P7350 Code Name Penryn Package Socket P (478) Technology 45nm Specification Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00GHz Family 6 Extended Family 6 Model 7 Extended Model 17 Stepping 6 Revision M0 Instructions MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, EM64T Bus Speed 266.0 MHz Rated Bus Speed 1063.9 MHz Stock Core Speed 2000 MHz Stock Bus Speed 266 MHz Average Temperature 35 °C Caches L1 Data Cache Size 2 x 32 KBytes L1 Instructions Cache Size 2 x 32 KBytes L2 Unified Cache Size 3072 KBytes Core 0 Core Speed 1994.9 MHz Multiplier x 7.5 Bus Speed 266.0 MHz Rated Bus Speed 1063.9 MHz Temperature 35 °C Thread 1 APIC ID 0 Core 1 Core Speed 1994.9 MHz Multiplier x 7.5 Bus Speed 266.0 MHz Rated Bus Speed 1063.9 MHz Temperature 35 °C Thread 1 APIC ID 1 RAM Memory slots Total memory slots 2 Used memory slots 2 Free memory slots 0 Memory Type DDR3 Size 4096 MBytes Channels # Dual DRAM Frequency 532.0 MHz CAS# Latency (CL) 7 clocks RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 7 clocks RAS# Precharge (tRP) 7 clocks Cycle Time (tRAS) 20 clocks SPD Number Of SPD Modules 2 Slot #1 Type DDR3 Size 2048 MBytes Manufacturer Micron Technology Max Bandwidth PC3-8500F (533 MHz) Part Number 16JSF25664HY-1G1D1 Serial Number DB20781D Week/year 28 / 08 SPD Ext. By custom build I hope you mean that we will pick parts for you and you assemble it.
Kind of. Not a full request but a base from someone then I replace a few parts with... Special parts that I have.
Uh... Well, since you're going for UBER L337 H4X0R H4RDCORE GAM1NG, here's what's pretty much top 'o the line right now... ASUS Rampage III Extreme - ~$300 Intel i7 980x - ~$900 i7 930 (Incase a 980x is too much) - ~$300 Nvidia GTX480 - ~$400 Mushkin Redline PC3 16000 (Some of the fastest and most reliable RAM availible, but quantities are scarce. Hell if I know why.) - ~$300 Enermax 1050w - ~ $250
Thanks. I was able to make THIS beast of a thing on a make your own pc shopping thing... It would be like 2800 though. Think it'd be worth it? Overkill. What games will you be playing at and what resolution panda? It's not good to get the top of the line parts; it is better to get mid tier-high tierish parts and slowly upgrading every two years or so. [editline]10:45PM[/editline] Don't get from ibuypower or any prebuilt site. Build it yourself on Newegg.
Oh, and thanks for those parts :D JUST in my price range. Those are all the components needed, right? This will be my first comp to build, but I want to be able to actually USE it, not build one that can play like mine sweeper and MAYBE solitary if the FCC card decides it wants to :P
FCC card? :tinfoil: [editline]10:50PM[/editline] also, $2800 and you don't even get an i7?
Panda, define hardcore gaming and what is your resolution?
Well, if you're building ground-up, you'll also need a case, optical drive, HDD, CPU cooling...
Panda, define hardcore gaming and what is your resolution?
I know about the cooling and the optics, and I DEFINETLY know about the case, What's the hdd? And falco, what do you mean by what's my res? And by hardcore I mean no noticeable framerate loss while playing crysis on max settings on a tank level blowing 3 of them at once with the moar.
Resolution = Pixels of monitor, size, 720p, 1080p etc. It matters because if you have an average monitor you could max Crysis on $900.
K. I haven't bought my monitor but have my eye on a super-hi-def 27 in monitor [editline]11:11PM[/editline]
FCC card? :tinfoil: [editline]10:50PM[/editline] also, $2800 and you don't even get an i7?
Lol I meant gfx. autospellcheck on my iPod it retarded [editline]11:15PM[/editline] Ok, update. Now it has the best I7 processor there is and it's just under the 3k mark.
This case are you fucking serious?
Wincase
This case are you fucking serious?
That is the ugliest case I've ever seen. D:
OP rices too hard
OP rices too hard
'Cause if your friends don't rice and if they don't rice well they ain't no friends of mine!
So.. The system specs that I posted last... Any ideas on how to make it more cost-effective? It's tax alone is 300 >:O any ideas on what is over frivolous on it?
Don't buy from ibuypower and don't get 8gb ram.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d.html?pd=1&qid=1284658178&a=B003C1ONYS&sr=8-1 Think I could get this and replace the few not-the-best-ever parts with more expensive ones?
So you want to buy the case for $1799.99 and take out the parts and put other parts in? Just build it yourself.
It actually had the majority of parts that I needed... At the time I thought it was for less... I didn't realize that in supcacey's post said OR not AND. [editline]11:47AM[/editline] And where can I find the Mushkin Redline PC3 16000? Can't find it anywhere
ITT: OP has to much money and wants to use it to buy 'SUPAR COMPUTAR DERP'. But seriously: you don't need such computer to play CSS or MW2.
I'm not playing mw2 or CSS. I'm playing stuff like bfbc2, and I have all this money cause I worked really hard for it. I'm going to use this computer far into the future, and hopefully not get out-of-date shit. [editline]01:45PM[/editline] *Order qualifies for free shipping (conditions apply).
