Does that make me lower class?
Well that's depressing.
Where is the immigrant unterclass?

The Daily Mail doesn't consider immigrants people, so they don't get a social class.
i'm beginning to doubt i'll ever actually earn £25,000 a year in this country :(
Being working class is shameful in todays world.
working class represent
That's about what my household earns in a year. Pretty depressing really.
I wonder what the median is.
That's what the average worker bee makes for serving the queen of the hive?
Don't they feel there's more to life than just earning a cut?

Ooh such a rebel to society, if you wanna go live in a forest, be my guest.
I'm on $10,000 a year
am I sub-lower-class

$10,000 implies you're American, not British

so yes
I'm curious to see how much UK government benefits affect the required income for a decent living compared to the US.
Drives a Ford? Really? Or is this a joke or something? Didn't think they were popular outside of the US, heh :v:

Benefits in the UK won't ever really ever give you a decent (by MEDC) standard of living.

Ford cars are very popular in the UK.
Though they're not the ones you guys have in the US, we have cars like the Focus, Ka and Transit which are really popular here.

you forgot probably the most popular one: Fiesta!
I don't want to live here, its too gray.
I bet the average working class man drives a Transit van.
I bet the average working class man drives a Transit van.
most people that drive transit vans drive them uninsured, and use them to collect scrap metal from peoples front gardens
if you can call that "working class" then yeah sure :v:
who cares what class anyone is.
Some of my friends make a habit of calling me "middle class" and making comments and it's just like fucking hell just because my parents earn more than yours doesn't mean you need to get shitty with me, it doesn't have any reflection upon myself or anyone else. Why does it matter

stop persecuting me because I'm richer ;_;
But you're right, it doesn't matter on an individual basis, but pretending that classes don't exist for your delicate sensibilities isn't a good solution.
Does this make my family peasants? Our total income is about 12k a year, and we have never owned a car or our own house. We consider ourselves pretty bloody well off.
How annoyingly accurate,
I have a Ford Fiesta, my dad has an Escort, my mum has a Mondeo and my sister has a StreetKa
I will add that as my Dad works for a Ford garage he gets discount on everything.

I'm not saying we should pretend they don't exist, I just wish people wouldn't constantly bring it up as a way of describing someone, it's just creating more stereotypes

It is useful in statistics, economics and sociology ect
Like for example, the Daily Mail's primary audience demograph is middle-class females.
Where as the Sun, is working class males.
I earn £11,500 a year I must be below the poverty line then lol
Just went to London and stayed near Knightsbridge and shit was disgustingly rich. Ferrari's parked in the street, watches costing more than a house. I saw some lady seriously looking at a phone case costing $40,000.
