Police have been patrolling at a Sheffield primary school after the British National Party (BNP) protested over plans to teach sex education. Grenoside Primary School is consulting with parents about plans to teach lessons on sex and relationships. The move has triggered a protest by the BNP which has called on the school to drop plans or face "further action". Headteacher Colin Fleetwood said the BNP's actions were "deplorable" and the disruption was "out of order". South Yorkshire Police said officers were "liaising with the school and providing reassurance". Mr Fleetwood said: "It is incredibly disappointing that the BNP has chosen to interfere in our consultation process on sex and relationship education in this way. "There is nothing which we are doing here as a school which warrants this kind of unwanted presence." In a statement, the BNP said: "Sex education for six-year-olds is mental paedophilia. "We refuse to stand by while the government, local councils and teachers force this sick agenda on our children." Insp Steven Mouzer, from Ecclesfield Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "Police have attended at Grenoside Community School, following a report of people outside the school handing out leaflets about the school's sex education policy "We are aware that the policy is a concern to some parents and members of the community. "The local Safer Neighbourhood Team are liaising with the school and providing reassurance while carrying out normal patrols in the area". The BNP can give my dick a good once over. Not literally. :suicide:
Oh boy, what a bunch of morons maybe if their parents were taught sex education.
Is this like that South Park episode where they dress up as Klansmen and get the KKK to support the other side because no-one wants to have the same opinion as the KKK
I thought the BNP were just a horde of racists, not the england equivalent of the republican party
I wonder if they gave a reason why sex education is mental paedophilia?
uhh anyone with two eyes in their head knows that attempting to talk about sex to anyone under 18 is obviously pedophilic just like how if you have sex before you're married you get aids

6 is too early anyway.
Sex Education was the funniest class I ever had. My Guidance teacher used to show us a clip of a mother giving birth and then re-winded the tape so you saw the baby and all the fluid go back inside. Good times.
While a kid isn't sexually mature at 6 years old, sex education at a young age isn't necessarily inappropriate. Sexuality exists from an early age; there's scientific data that suggests children already know sexual movements before they can even walk. Many fetishes appear during childhood. While there's very little need to talk about dating yet, there's really no such thing as an "inappropriate" time to talk about sexual education as long as the material itself is actually useful to the child.
Not surprising that the BNP is against education.
I don't know about you guys but the last thing I had on my mind when I was 6 years old was sex (hell, I don't think I knew much about it at all). Things might be different now but I still think that's far too early for sex education, it doesn't make any sense to be teaching it at that age.

The school is called Grenoside? It almost sounds like genocide.
Yeah, let's keep them retarded instead!
I've seen false dichtonomies before but this is ridiculous. Congratulations, you're ridiculous (I also doubt you're a real knight) [editline]24th November 2011[/editline]
I don't know about you guys but the last thing I had on my mind when I was 6 years old was sex (hell, I don't think I knew much about it at all). Well-meaning liberals see this and say "well we've got to educate them younger before they start experimenting for themselves!" and the cycle repeats.
They just said on the news that under the proposals they would teach how humans and animals reproduce from age 6, and the acceptance of same sex relationships from age 7, they wouldn't get into detail until the normal age of 10-11
In a statement, the BNP said: "Sex education for six-year-olds is mental paedophilia.
So teaching children more about one of the most natural behavior in human beings is mental sex-abuse??
"We refuse to stand by while the government, local councils and teachers force this sick agenda on our children."
Seriously? Are they expecting the teachers to teach them "Kamazutra" or hardcore porn?? THEN they would have reason to be worried and protest, but healthy education that they eventually will be in need of in the future in early days? Why not! if it doesn't work then throw it in the "shit folder".
While I admit 6 is a bit too young (my sister is 9 now, she started sex education 2 years ago. Why?!) sex education is pretty vital to a person as they grow up whether they like it or not :v:. I remember being like 11, watching one of those birth tapes and the guy sat next to me threw up all over the table.

Not that I think they should teach it that young, but kids are being exposed to it at younger ages due to technology and such. I saw my first porn when I was 8-9 when I stumbled upon the folder my brother had hidden with it in. Not that every child does, but it is much easier for them to be exposed to it. I still think its silly teaching it at such a young age though...They should be teaching it at 10-12 in areas where it is socially normal for kids to have sex at a much younger age than average (Such as inner city/rural areas), and 12-14 for places where it isn't as common. You'd find that in my high school pretty much the only people who had sex were chavs/yobs, and most decent girls stayed virgins until 17-19, whereas in some other areas not far from here, a big chunk of kids would have lost their virginity at 13-15 because of the way it is encouraged by their peers.
We don't even need sex education. With the invention of the internet kids know EVERYTHING. And I should know.
Nobody cares about the BNP except for the BNP. They can go fuck right off.
I think it is vitally important we get the stigma of being gay out of society. It's fuckng pathetic. I know many people who are Bi/Gay that get stick everyday.
6 is too early anyway.
Kids that age would probably be way to busy eating worms/ chewing crayons or something anyway.
6 is too early anyway.
The earlier you introduce something the less dramatic and stigmatized it becomes later on. Compare it to speaking in front of an audience; if you start practicing it frequently early on in school it becomes natural and not such a big deal to students (I heard speaking in front of class about random topics is routine in US schools).
To be fair, SexEd for 6 year olds sounds fucked up and wrong however for 10-13, it should be absolutely required.
Mental paedophilia? HAHAHA OH WOW
Sex education for 6 year old feels really wrong. Isn't that what priests teach anyway?
