I want mirrors edge 2 not this
still not buying BF3
It would be nice if I got a discount for being a day one purchaser and Battlefield vet. Slightly interested in Armored Kill, not really in anything else and Battlefield 4 is probably going to be the same game. Meh.
and a selection of instant unlocks
So Battlefield is basically pay2win now? Unless the unlocks are just reskins of other guns like most "new" weapons are.
So Battlefield is basically pay2win now? Unless the unlocks are just reskins of other guns like most "new" weapons are.
They're the same guns that everyone gets, they'll just get them off the bat instead of getting them by playing classes / levelling up.
I want mirrors edge 2 not this
You said battlefield edge 4 right I don't even know what mirrors edge is what the fuck kind of game is that we want battlefield edge 8
money money money money money money money money money money money money EA's marketing and financial supervisor
The DLC has really killed my desire to play Battlefield 3. Every time I boot it up I just feel like "I'm missing out on so much content"
DLC in general makes me feel like this.
DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC
Well I definitely won't be buying premium now.
Considering I will be playing Planetside 2 soon I might skip bf4 all together and wait for 2143 if they every make it.
The DLC has really killed my desire to play Battlefield 3. Sure, free content is always better, but I don't find BF3's DLC to be overpriced.

Nobody ever complained about BF1942, BF2 DLC's, which costed more and gave less content. These expansion packs are amazing in level of detail, sound quality and pretty much everything else. I also fucking love the winter/dusk map, brings me back to the BF2 xpack "Armored Fury", the map where the Chinese were invading USA.. same god damn sky/time of day/general colour.

It's probably because instead of being released as expansions they're now released as DLC which makes everyone seem to think their entitled it for free because it's not sold on CD

Close quarters is 4 maps and 10 weapons for 15 dollar. It doesn't even come close to the value. Back then, they also didn't plan on selling dlc before the game was even released.

Look at Back to Karkand. 10 weapons, 4 rehashed (but really well done) maps, 3 vehicles and a new gamemode. Well, worth the money imo.

Look at the work a single BF3 map has put into it.
So if you already own BF3, you still have to pay 50$ for Premium? Thanks EA/DICE
So if you already own BF3, you still have to pay 50$ for Premium? Thanks EA/DICE
It's 5 $15 expansions for $50, seems fair to me.
Any other company who does this: Every has no problem with it. EA does this: Baseless rage and hate because they are ripping off their fanbase by saving them 25 bucs.
Oh no a company are releasing a GotY edition of their game! Whatever shall we do! Oh, wait, stop complaining about it because every other company can do this just fine, but EA suddenly can't?
The DLC has really killed my desire to play Battlefield 3. Every time I boot it up I just feel like "I'm missing out on so much content"
I bought the game, and shortly after premium has come out, I haven't played it since.
I bought the game, and shortly after premium has come out, I haven't played it since.
Good for you. How is this relevant to the thread at all? This isn't a thread about "how we stopped playing the game". It's a thread about the GotY equivalent they are releasing soon.

Oh, wait, stop complaining about it because every other company can do this just fine, but EA suddenly can't?
In my defense I don't particularly like GOTY editions anyway. One I really didn't like was Borderlands. I bought the game day one for $50 and had to pay for each DLC seperately then, a year later, anyone could get the game and all DLC's for $30. Considering I already own B2K from pre-ordering and have been a series fan, it would be nice to get a discount or something. They clearly aren't hurting for money if the premium edition is only going for $70. I'll probably buy Armored Kill, put two weeks into it, then stop playing BF3 until the next fun looking Battlefield game comes out.
I want mirrors edge 2 not this
Sadly, this isn't going to happen.

This isn't just EA, it's every game company people complain about. EA just does it ALL the time. With every game. Increasingly so when they gobble up very popular studios and apply the same tactic. They're the only brand that does it on an industrial scale, so it's more notable when people bitch.

I don't see massive complaints about THQ, y'know, the guys who basically pioneered selling useless shit for high prices? (SR3 packs, excellent example). Every game developer does it, some more than others, but it doesn't make the practice wrong at all.

The DLC for BF3 has been stellar so far and it looks like it's only going to get better.
