Huh, looks like it'll be a top-down title with co-op (possibly a slight Nekro vibe too), and one of the Overlords will be an Overdwarf. I hope it'll be as awesome as the last two titles, it's been too long since we've had another Overlord game...
I really really hope it won't be a Diablo gimmick with RPG stuff and lots of loot and shit.
True, but if it DID come to that (and let's hope it doesn't), the loot shouldn't be exclusive to the Overlord but instead be wearable by the minions as well. I mean, the original titles had the minions pick up random pieces of equipment, so if the new Overlord ends up going in a somewhat Diabloey direction, it would make sense for them to slap on all that white trash that inevitably drops in every hack 'n' slash, making use of the stuff that most people just leave on the ground 'cause it's worthless once you're kitted out with rares and legendaries. After all, can't have an Overlord game without focusing on the minions. But Diablo aside, if the format and viewpoint allows for better micro of the minions, that would make for an interesting variant on the Overlord formula.
All I hope for is two things. 1. More writing from the great Rhianna Pratchett, daughter of the late Terry Pratchett. 2. More Gnarl.

Sure, it was frustrating sometimes when the minions took stupid routes etc, but that was the charm of the game. Sending forth a pillaging horde of minions. I guess they have to advance the game and try new things. But I feel this could be a (too) big gamble on their side. But hey, what do I know? It was just a split second view.
Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing more Minions, or even different kinds of evil creature that serve the Overdwarf. Overlord 2 introduced the potential for armies with more than just the minions with the introduction of Mounts (Wolves, Spiders, Salamanders), so I would not say no to having the Overdwarf experiment with different kinds of Lifeforce to create Trolls or Dire Seals or other grim beasties to support the minions. Can you tell which of the four characters I'm gonna main the hell out of when this comes out?
Is that one, possibly two, Overladies I see there? Edit: If it's two, dibs on the combat beast one. I like having a sledgehammer.

So quick analysis: the four crystals supposedly represent the Lifeforce resources (Brown, Red, Green, Blue), the red central sphere probably represents health, the many-sided star icons are probably some sort of power level thing (or to differentiate between players), the left-hand ball with either fire-blob or lightning bolt are probably either your current spell or your current flavour of evil (or maybe both), and the top bar with the numbers on them represent gold, I guess. Beyond that, I haven't the foggiest what's going on.
I'm certainly interested in what they're going for here. But again, so long as Ms. Pratchett is writing, and she makes sure Gnarl is his best, then I have little qualms. Also dibs on the Dwarf, because Dwarves are awesome.
Overdwarf is the best dwarf, and the best Overlord. The two gnarly-looking bearded axes are just gravy on the chicken. Also, apparently Overdwarf is a band from northern Germany.
