Why does it seem like everyone wants to blame the life style they live or the things they do on everyone else? I honestly don't believe there is such a thing as a "victim of society". Yes, granted, you could be born into a pretty shitty situation, but not to get too Shakespearean on you, anyone can change the stars. Look at history, the things people have accomplished. How is it Johnny Shmo can't become successful? Most of these companies and rich people, at least in the united states were born into worse living conditions than the people demonizing them, and look where they are today.
It is not my responsibility, or yours, or any of you to take care of someone. If you want to help people in bad situations I encourage you to do so, but don't let them tell you it's your responsibility to do so. This fucking liberalism, victims of society, victims of class or race. It's a crutch. We are allowing people to not better themselves. Maybe you were born in the ghetto, your family has no money, you're in a gang because it's the only way to stay safe. You can't help these things sometimes, but you can't allow them to grasp. Yes you will have to work 10x harder than Suzy with the doctor parents and the private school, but you will come out 10x stronger for it, and with 10x more character. We need to stop allowing people to be sedentary.
I am 17, so I'm not going to act like I got this figured out to the letter, but to me and the life experience I've had, it's pretty cut and dry. You are who you want to be, and your as small or large as you make yourself. It's not even so much of a rant at this point anymore. It's an encouragement. Tell people there is no wall, because the wall is only as high as you allow it to build. Get a hammer. The idea that you can be as successful as you want to be isn't a fairytale, it's life. Call me ignorant or stupid, just let me have my faith in people.
One quote I wont ever forget came from when I read the Lord of The Rings a few years back. Really think about this.

It's true that many people are limited by their own choices. For example, choosing to drink yourself into a stupor every day is only going to leave you with alcoholism and liver problems.
It doesn't.
