I'm not even using a Sony headset with my PS3. Just get a $10 headset and that will work with zero problems.
Why are MS going with Wi-Fi Direct anyway? Other than range and bandwidth (something you don't particularly need for a headset), I can't really see a good reason to destroy compatibility with previous peripherals (other than a cash grab).

Pfft, I'm not even using my Sony Headset with my PS3. Just plugged it straight into the computer and in 10 seconds, epic headset.
(PS I got my headset free, but it's totally worth $100).
I used a Xbox 360 wireless headset, it had 2 modes on it, bluetooth and Xbox mode
