I'm looking to buy myself a cell-phone and would really like some advice. I'm also planning on getting one for my father. I am looking for a smart-phone particularly. Anyone know of any well priced phones that I should take a look at? I've been looking at the HTC EVO and even the iPhone, but would greatly appreciate some advice. Thanks in advance.
Also, I've had a terrible experience with Verizon in the past and would like to avoid them again. Shame droid phones use them.
How much do you want to pay for it?
I was hoping for $150 or under. I am looking at the iPhone 3GS right now, looks awesome and it's only $99.99. Any opinions?

$150 dollars or under for the phone with a signed contract, the price of the contract I can work out later. I'm expecting to be paying large amounts of money per month for that.
Well myself, and everyone else who has used Verizon that I know have all experienced the fact that 99% of calls get dropped. That is, if they even get to you in the first place.
If you want a decent smartphone using Android, get the HTC/Droid Incredible as suggested before. I have a HTC Desire myself and it's quite similar. The Incredible is just better in a few things (like more internal ram and a better camera). But those phones will costs around $500+.
If you want one with Windows Mobile, I'd suggest the HTC HD2 or the HTC HD Mini. The second one is also not that expensive.
Or wait for the iPhone 4G. I read it'll be around $199 but I really can't believe that price.
Well I want to be getting two phones, hopefully on the same contract. I'm thinking about getting the Droid Incredible for myself and maybe an Eris or another Incredible for my father.
My brother just got a Pantect Reveal and its awesome but if your looking for a smart phone, iphone is the way to go.
The Evo is fucking amazing, I don't have a single issue with the phone. It' got 4g and runs android so fast. Never had a single slow down.

How about the battery life? I hear it's so terrible it makes the phone not worth buying.
